So tomorrow (Saturday, Nov 19th) is my birthday! ((throws sparkly confetti)). Today while in the midst of cleaning up after my puppy hauled an entire tree + it’s root system into my living, handling important calls about my book tour (woohoo!), working on The Bakery Spot, the list goes on… —
“The air is crisp. The autumn breeze is blowing. The ever changing leaves are slowly floating to the ground. The harvest season has arrived and my favorite time of year inspired the Happy Harvest Table. I designed the “Happy Harvest” and “Autumn” banners for our church last year and they turned out so well that I wanted to expand on the theme.” – Do, Piggy Bank Parties
I am thankful for a LOT this year, including the talented readers, designers, and photographers who send in their parties + shoots for me to share. I’m VERY thankful for this one sent in by Jenny Raulli of Bloom! She designed a backyard Chili Dinner Party “under the oaks” that has me ready to host a fall party for all my friends!
With the beautiful fall weather, why not host an outdoor movie + treat night?! That’s what Brandy Ketler of Simply Creative Insanity recently did with her neighbors! Pumpkins, bails of hay, and scarecrows lined the “movie watching area”. Glowing lanterns added just the right amount of glowing light while watching the cute movie – “Up”!
We used green and blue burlap as the base for our main table and filled it with treats galore! There were custom sugar cookies designed by Jimemmajack Cookies in the shape of golf bags, golf balls, and greens. Two Sugar Babies designed fondant cupcake toppers, golf flags, and golf balls that were perfect for decorating green “grass” cupcakes and a store-bought two-tier vanilla cake. Adding fondant decorations really jazzes up a basic white cake!
