Cutest book gift! The traveling apron cookbook! By Aimee Broussard

I‘m so tickled to be sharing this cookbook with y’all today! The author? Aimee Broussard! She’s my blogging BFF. This crazy world of full-time blogging can be a wee bit lonely from time to time since it’s a lot of time spent behind the computer screen and behind the camera. I often miss having an office of coworkers and friends to bounce ideas off of. Enter Aimee! She’s been my roommate for countless conferences and both have a love of entertaining and the South! Fun Fact: We actually first met at the Martha Stewart Headquarters! She has now added published author to her title! I’m just so darn proud of her that I wanted to share her darling book – The Traveling Apron Cookbook – with you all here. Might I recommend grabbing a few copies to wrap under the Christmas tree (less than 9 weeks left, by the way)! Or, better yet, enter to win a copy from yours truly (details below)…

Aimee started circulating an apron in a “traveling apron” swap to get to know the gals participating and to find out what they eat in their area of the country. Little did she know it would take off like hotcakes and grow to a published book. Woohoo! You’ll find so many fabulous recipes from around the country like this one for Spicy Creole Shrimp Crackers with New Orleans Pig Candy! To die for… ! And you’ll get Aimee’s famous pralines recipe. Oh my goodness, yum.

Spicy Creole Crackers from Aimee Broussard's Book - The Traveling Apron Cookbook!

Aimee collected dozens and dozens of recipes from around the country but only the very best made it into The Traveling Apron Cookbook! Aimee shared, “Of the 90-ish recipes, duplicates were each tested then weeded out. For example, I want to say there were 4 banana bread recipes. I recipe tested three of the four and chose the one I felt was both delicious and easy to recreate.. I was very adamant about recipes containing readily available ingredients as well as being approachable for anyone picking up the cookbook, thus losing a few more recipes in the process. The choice to include equal parts contributor equal parts my own recipes was based primarily on the fact that I wanted to maintain some reflection of what my blog entails and a contributor heavy cookbook would’ve distracted from that. We (my publisher and I) felt that it needed to reflect the apron’s journey on my website and throughout the journey I would post one of my own, one of theirs, one of mine, one of theirs, etc.”

MORE ABOUT THE TRAVELING APRON COOKBOOK: “From coast-to-coast, there is something universally common about our relationship with food. It’s more than just the food we eat and the way we nourish our bodies. It’s the way we feel when our food is shared and the manner in which we connect with others over a shared meal. But perhaps most importantly is the way in which a favorite heirloom recipe can allow a flood of treasured memories to invade our hearts with the simple aroma of ingredients. The traveling apron journey began with one simple goal in mind: to connect a community of women together around those beloved recipes. After 20,000-plus miles of travel, whether you’re looking to update your weeknight dinner rotation, entertain friends on the back porch, or simply looking for a dessert for your next holiday bash, there’s a little something for everyone.”
