All about that blue, bout that blue…no treble! Ok, so despite the fact that I sang that during the entire creation of this delicious list, it’s all about that RED, WHITE, + BLUE today! I’m super excited to celebrate all things Americana this weekend, including a few sweet treats. Last year, little Blakely was just a few months old so we didn’t partake in the firework festivities but this year I’m hoping she will love watching all the lights in the sky! I’m also 100% certain she will enjoy getting a bite or two of a 4th of July dessert.
I made this 4th of July Sparkler Cake last year, and it truly couldn’t be easier. You can even jazz up a store bought cake or pie with the same concept. I just love sparklers! See the full post and details here.
Let’s face it, as much as I like cake and cupcakes, there are definitely the pie lovers out there? My husband is one! Are you? I can’t leave my pie friends hanging (don’t worry, I love pie too) so this blueberry star pie is for you! It’s blueberry but the star technique could easily be used on other pie flavors (cherry, apple, etc) too! Get the recipe for this gorgeous patriotic pie here!
The kids will absolutely LOVE these cute red, white, and blue firecracker Jell-O cups! How cute? I love the stripes and what little one doesn’t love Jell-O? These would be cute made in mini size too (you know how I love mini desserts)!
If you’re looking for a healthier alternative for the adults and the kids, these Fourth of July fruit pops from my friend Naomi at Bakers Royale will do the trick! I love how cute they look on paper straws! These are also a great last-minute treat too (no baking required – woohoo!). See details here.
If you’ll be beating the heat for the 4th of July this year, then ice cream is a must! Keep it cute with dipped waffle cones and lots of red, white and blue sprinkles! I love these patriotic cones from Noble Pig. Set up a full sundae bar with all the toppings (blueberries, cherries and white chocolate chips would be festive additions!). Get more details on these here.
