5 Last Minute Holiday Entertaining Tips!

Let’s face it, we’re busy - especially around the holidays! If you’re throwing a holiday party, the last thing you want to do is miss all the fun because you’re hurrying around the kitchen trying to get everything cooked, baked, chilled, poured, and plated while your guests enjoy themselves. Here are my top 5 tips for last minute holiday entertaining!

Prep for your party by placing scoops of ice cream in cupcake liners!

1. CHILL YOUR TREATS

Prep peppermint sundaes by dishing out scoops of ice cream in cupcake liners. Then place in your freezer – or better yet – the LG Blast Chiller. This is absolutely on my wish list. And you know what else? You’ll NEVER have to serve ice for all your beverages (who wants warm soda or cocktails?) because it can take a room temperature beverage to ice cold in 5 minutes. {learn more about the LG Blast Chiller here}

See? Just scoop out your ice cream and freeze (mine were enjoyed with the new Pizzazzerie for Sucre Shop cutlery).

2. Set up DIY bar stations

…like this hot cocoa bar from Paper & Pigtails. This allows guests to create a drink or treat that they really love while you get to avoid playing bartender and chef all night! Use clear glass canisters, bowls, and plates to hold all the fixings and drinks. Provide scoops and ta-da!

3. Use Ribbon to Decorate!

Wrap simple white candles with ribbon for a quick and easy decoration! Your everyday white dishes are absolutely perfect when paired with a simple striped tablecloth. Don’t have a striped tablecloth? Here’s an easy fix: Layer ribbon across a white tablecloth (try red + white for a peppermint look). {image via Martha Stewart}

Impromptu entertaining means you don’t have time to whip up a filet or anything else of the sort. Keep a variety of fancy cheeses on hand along with crackers, nuts, and dried fruit. All of these items store beautifully and can be quickly displayed on a holiday platter! {image via Southern Living}

Clover and Orange for Holiday Parties! Makes your house smell AMAZING!

5. Smells of Cinnamon!

Keep cinnamon sticks and cloves around because they can quickly take your house from blah to HOLIDAY PARTY!!! with just the scent. Heat a pot of water (or slow cooker) on the stove and add cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, cloves, orange slices, etc and bring to a simmer.

The LG Blast Chiller, available in the 3-Door Super Capacity French-Door refrigerator (LFX31935), can chill a room temperature, 12oz beverage in five minutes or a bottle of wine in just eight minutes. By comparison, a typical refrigerator takes about 40 minutes to accomplish this task – even in the freezer. This refrigerator is also among the largest capacity 36-inch refrigerators currently on the market, offering almost 20 percent more space and the ability to store over 50 gallons of milk!
