Cheers, friends! So while we’re all ready to be blissfully sitting around the fire sipping hot cocoa, you may be like me and running around like a mad woman trying to get all the finishing touches complete for Christmas. From ordering last minute gifts to holiday programs at school, you name it… it’s wild! So I made you a cocktail because this season is nuts and you deserve it. So while you’re wrapping all those gifts, grab a glass of this Cranberry & Blood Orange Sangria! It’s delicious, full of holiday flavors, and perfect for a crowd if you have any upcoming holiday parties. Or you can be like me and keep a pitcher of it stocked in your refrigerator this week… sip sip HOORAY!
This is my first Christmas in my new house so after discovering that my fireplace had a gas leak and the washing machine was recalled, I’ve been craving this sangria in a major way. It’s always something, isn’t it? No worries, 5:00pm does indeed roll around every single day, it’s a Christmas miracle!
This recipe couldn’t be easier, it’s a “pour it in and you’re done” kind of recipe which is truthfully my favorite! Plus, it’s best served after sitting overnight in the refrigerator so you can fix it and forget it – until the next day. You can even jazz it up and put it in a fun glass (snagged mine from HomeGoods this week, aren’t they cute?) or heck, drink it out of a plastic tumbler, it’ll taste just as delicious!
A delicious and flavorful holiday sangria that's perfect for Christmas celebrations!
- 1 750ml bottle fruity red wine
- 3 cups cranberry juice
- 1/4 cup Grand Marnier
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
- 2 blood oranges (1 juiced, 1 sliced)
- Combine all ingredients in a pitcher (including fresh cranberries and blood orange slices) and refrigerate overnight. Serve chilled (with or without ice).
Now just pick your favorite holiday movie, grab a glass (or two) of this Cranberry Blood Orange Sangria and let all your troubles float away! At least for a few minutes, right? Then don’t forget to move that darn elf.
On a semi-related note, if you’re looking for a fabulouse drink for a crowd that is not alcoholic, I just posted my “fancied up” hot apple cider so go grab that recipe too!
