Pirates and Princesses Party!

princesses and piratesTrying to host a double birthday party for a little girl and boy? That’s just the challenge Aubry Startin [who I met at Folio Love where I spoke on branding] and her best friend Sarah Perkins had over the idea of joining forces for their kids’ birthday parties. Aubry wrote, “eli is totally into pirates and josie, well… she wasn’t crazy about the pirate theme until i explained that she and all her friends were going to dress-up as princesses.  then she was totally on-board.”

Take a look at how cute the double-themed party turned out…

We have the details on this darling Pirates + Princesses Birthday Party! The cute turquoise cupcakes were decorated by buying pirate-themed scrapbook paper, cutting out the ships, and simply sticking it down into the cupcakes! There are dozens and dozens of patterned and themed scrapbook papers at the craft store that are perfect for cupcake toppers as well as party placemats, borders for place cards and food labels, + more!

In addition to the cupcakes, Sarah also made the cookies using this Fox Run Pirates Treasure Cookie Cutter Set available online! She then  used a variety of frostings to decorate the cookies.

Aubry and Sarah made ample use of the dollar store and Hobby Lobby while prop-shopping for this party. Polka dot wrapping paper jazzed up an easy centerpiece. Black and red/white striped fabric made the perfect table covering. A little pirate’s chest filled with lots of fun streamers and necklaces were the perfect “Hidden Treasure” for the kids to play with!
