On The Farm 1st Birthday Party!

Oh the cuteness that comes with this ON THE FARM themed Birthday Party! Always a popular theme and definitely a crowd-pleaser, this cute party was sent over by Jennifer Faught of Something Detailed. From the cow print “ONE” to the gingham check treat bags, this party is loaded with cute, little touches. I also love the healthy veggies and fruits added in among the sweets!

“My great friend, Suzanne, called to ask me to help plan her little boy’s 1st birthday party this past fall. Her son, Tripp (he’s a III, named after his dad and grandfather), LOVES animals, so an “On the Farm” party was perfect. It was so much fun to create this with Suzanne! She was dedicated to go “all-out” with the theme. This is such a cute little family who made a very special birthday for Tripp.” – Jennifer of Something Detailed

Guests were greeted with a rustic, burlap and cow print wreath, which opened up into the foyer filled with baby pictures and party gear. Guests grabbed straw hats and monogrammed bandanas before heading into the party.

The old window was painted red with baby pictures attached to blue gingham scrapbook paper and leaned against a burlap backdrop. The Silhouette SD was great at cutting out the cow print spots for the white picture frames.

The invitation was on the farm inspired too. A kraft paper pocket, wrapped in a baby blue gingham bellyband and “Tripp’s turning 1” tab held the barn-styled invitation. The barn doors opened to reveal the invitation.

How cute is all the food? The kids menu included PB&J, Cheese and Ham & Cheese sandwiches, Chex Mix, homemade air-popped popcorn, haystacks, garden veggies and fruit. Luckily, Suzanne’s mom is a baker. { B. Jackson’s Bakery in Arrington, TN. } She made the cow print smash cake, cow pies (brownies) and the super cute farm animal cupcakes. Adults had BBQ from Corky’s BBQ.

Each of the food items has a coordinating label and the water bottles matched too. The backdrop took up my entire living room and required a lot of ironing and Stitch Witch! I added a finishing touch of the raffia and bandana tie on the burlap and gingham tablecloths.

Suzanne painstakingly squeezed 25 lemons the morning of the party to make real homemade lemonade. It was delicious! The drink table also had sweet tea and farm fresh milk. The mason jars were her grandmothers that we decorated with raffia and little lemonade tags.

The big surprise before lunch was live baby ducks and chickens. They were SO cute and such a hit!

Country Rooster Party + Old-Fashioned Pound Cake

Something To Crow About (2)
Something To Crow About (2)

Country charm rules the roost on this table setting. Do you have special memories of a cake your grandmother made for breakfast? This is my great-grandmother's recipe for old fashioned pound cake and it is outstanding with morning coffee (or diet coke if you're like me).  It can easily be topped with strawberries or a chocolate drizzle to jazz it up! A good recipe shared with others will live … { read more }
