Vintage Sock Monkey Birthday Party

Susan Gentile has shared a number of fabulous parties with us as she is one of our favorite photographers. You might remember this Nesting Baby Shower and Under the Sea party she photographed. Well this party was for her own son, Alexander, who turned 1!  Vintage sock monkey was the theme and she didn’t miss a beat designing the decor!

The cupcake stand lined in ribbon is one of my favorite elements. Another fun tip worth mentioning is using regular drinks and food but with unique and fun names to fit your party theme. For example, she served Capri Sun drinks and called them “monkey juice”.  This is an easy and clever way to keep the theme throughout your whole party!

Ribbon can take a party up a notch and Susan found darling patterned ribbons for the candy jars, cupcake stand, and other elements of the party. Even for a boy’s party, ribbon can be a whimsical addition for a child’s party. Ribbon Retreat is a great online source with a great ribbon selection.
