Southern Romantic Wedding

Southern Fall Wedding

Southern Romantic Wedding

We have a special treat for you all today because this Southern wedding is FULL of fabulous color and details!  Sara and Benjamin got married in October at the Tuckahoe Plantation which is an 18th century Georgian style plantation that overlooks the James and their wedding was photographed by Meghan McSweeney Photography.   The bride was able to watch from Thomas Jefferson’s boyhood bedroom window as each of the guests arrived, which provides this completely unique experience and memories to remember your wedding by.  The plantation is truly beautiful, and it provided Sara and Ben with a unique ceremony and reception venue that felt like it was completely their own for the day, and truly made the guest experience something to remember by.

The details that they incorporated into their wedding are just SPECTACULAR!  I mean have you seen those bow ties and argoyle socks?  What is not to love about that great style and the beautiful flowers the Bride and her bridesmaids were carrying!  I love the idea of throwing rose petals at an outside ceremony, and I’m completely in love with the flower girls dress.  Many of the details that they incorporated into their wedding have special meaning to Sara and Ben, and everything from the table numbers, escort cards, and the cake topper were made by Sara and her mom.

Fall Reception Details

When we asked Sara about how they personalized the details of their day, I am in love with how they came up with their wedding favors and how involved everyone was in the process.  For their wedding favors, half of them were coffee from the very coffee shop that they loved, and the other half of the guests received Ginger-Peach jam that one of Sara’s maid of honors made alongside her.  Such a GREAT idea!!  Especially since a friend donated all of the peaches from their orchard and taught them how to make jam!  I wish I could have been there for that, the jam sounds DELICIOUS!

One of Sara’s favorite DIY elements of the wedding was the lace and pearl flowers that they affixed to her shoes.  The bride’s mom made them out of her veil and they were her “something old.” I love that Sara and her mom were so involved in every detail of this wedding, and the joy that they had with doing it completely shows in all of the photos.  My personal favorites are the pearl table numbers and the fabulous logs holding the escort cards for all of the guests.  It is definitely a Southern Wedding that I wish I could have been a guest at!
