A “Bittersweet” Valentine’s Party

Jen of Blush Printables and I teamed up for a dreamy yet humorous take on this romantic holiday. Inspired by lyrics of popular love songs and common “love” phrases, Jen designed all the party printables and paper goods for this shoot. I almost squealed when I saw it all – her work is outstanding. From the shimmer paper to the tiny details on each design, her work is divine. We chose a blush pink and champagne gold color scheme as we both find it simply dreamy.

Read on for a giveaway from some of the “glittered decor” used in the shoot!

vanilla valentine's cupcakes

Simple vanilla cupcakes with ruffle strawberry frosting set the tone for an arrangement of sweet desserts! These cuties are from Nashville’s Whole Foods but you can easily achieve a ruffled look with the Wilton ruffle tips! Top with a bit of crystal sugar, and you have a fancy mini cupcake!

The mini candy containers and scoops were a find from Michaels. The little scoops fit right down in the side, so darling! I filled these with Valentine’s M&Ms, but any little treat would be perfect!

I LOVED the signs that Jen made. She just has such an eye for design, working with her is a dream. Her work is fantastic. One of my favorite elements she made were the votive wraps! So easy to wrap around a candle and the candle glows so beautifully through the design.

valentine's day mini cherry pie shots

Who doesn’t love anything mini sized?! Making cherry pie shots to go with the “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” was a breeze. All you need is little shot glasses (these are acrylic plastic ones from The Container Store) and Cherry Pie ingredients. You can make your own Cherry Pie or use cherry pie filling with puff pastry or ground graham cracker crumbs. I did the latter and they turned out delicious!

valentine's smores by sweet lydias

Sweet Lydia’s made the heart shaped smores with edible glitter in champagne gold and pink! They were such a hit when I served them at a Peacock Engagement Party that I knew I wanted to use them again! Sweet Lydia’s is part of our Gourmet Guide so be sure to check out her delectable treats!

The heart medallion tags with glittered edges were a fun find on etsy. Little Pumpkin Papers made them, and let me say, she is delightful and her products are quality (and reasonably priced)! I will be ordering again for SURE! I highly recommend taking a peak into her shop!

{GIVEAWAY} I’m going to give away 5 of the heart medallion tags used in this shoot to a lucky reader so leave a comment below if you’d like to be entered to win! HURRY! Deadline to enter is Wednesday, February 9th. Winner will be notified Thursday, February 10th!

  39. Ok, I’m feeling inspired… My fiance and I agreed to not buy gifts/doing anything big this year since we’re saving our money for our upcoming nuptials. But last year was our first Valentines Day together and we didn’t see each other – bad timing for travel as I was gettting ready to move from TX to TN. Long story short (kinda), I have decided to put thought in to the decor and not just the food for our at-home celebration. It needs to at least be a little special this year :) Thanks for the inspiration!

    1. Megan, your sweet comment made my day! Thank you! I’m so glad you’re inspired, because really cute little printed place cards and a few little desserts is inexpensive and still super romantic & sweet! I’m glad you’ll get to celebrate Valentine’s day with your fiance this year :)
