Children’s Book Themed Baby Boy Shower!
I recently had the pleasure of hosting a sweet baby shower for my friend Kristen Steele. She’s awaiting the arrival of a darling baby boy so it was an absolute pleasure to shower her + the little one with a baby shower. It was yellow, baby blue, and navy themed with Children’s Books incorporated throughout! We built up baby boy’s library with all the classics. It was such a wonderful time, and I had an absolute blast with the party details. Check out the pictures below!
PARTY DETAILS
- Guests signed a sweet “library book” poster (designed by Paper & Pigtails) that we framed for the guest book.Â
- The party menu was influenced by my favorite children’s books. See below for full list.
- Kristen’s friend Elizabeth Higgenbotham made the most darling cookies that were just perfect.
- Favors were chocolate chip cookies packaged up next to “If You Give A Mouse A Cookie” book!
- I love the patterns of Midori Ribbon and used it to decorate everything from the bow tie on the bear’s tricycle to wrapping gifts.
- Be on the lookout for one of my fave details – bow tie garland!
- A bold yellow and white stripe fabric made the perfect tablecloth!
This shower was so fun to put together, and we all loved watching Kristen build baby’s library! Below are the list of food items + corresponding books if you’re throwing a children’s book themed shower and need ideas!

That is SO sweet Rachel!! Thank you!!
Love this theme idea. So cute, did you give all the books to the mom to be afterwards?
Yes, Andrea! I sure did :) Guests also brought a book instead of a card. Sweet baby boy has quite the little library now!
I absolutely ADORED getting all of these books and can’t wait to read them to my little boy once he gets here! It was such a thoughtful and huge bonus!!! Double duty decor! :)
Andrea, I’m using this and some other posts as inspiration for a Book Baby Shower later this month :)
Love the guest ‘book’, super cute and clever!

I’m hosting a shower with a similar theme and I’m wondering where you found the vintage tricycle that the bear is sitting in. Can you let me know? Thanks!
Hi there,
Love this idea. We are planning on doing something very similar for a co-workers baby shower. Wondering if you can help direct me in where I can purchse those cute yellow stripped popcorn boxes. I am having a hard time finding some!
Many thanks!
Daisy
Where did you find the bike props? They are precious and we would love to find similar ones!
Hi Karina! They were purchased from a place here locally called Old Time Pottery, you can check their website to see if you can buy online or check online/ebay for “metal wire bicycle planters” for something similar!
Where did you find the cute tricycle?
This was found at Old Time Pottery, a store here in TN but you might have luck online or at Hobby Lobby.
Hi! Where did you get the “a cookie for you stickers”? Thank you I love this idea :)
Hi Taylor! I made them myself, but check out Zazzle or Etsy, so many fun choices that can be personalized!
How did you decorate the guest tables
