“Love Letters” Valentine’s Dinner Party & Free Printables!

valentine's day 2012 dinner party 2
Hi my fellow party hostesses! Looking for some inspirational Valentine’s Day ideas?! I absolutely adore this party design and the free printables that come along with it! Designed by Meredith Santucci of MJ Paperie & Party Design, this simple yet elegant Valentine’s dinner party has given me a newfound love for houndstooth!
DESIGN INSPIRATION: “It may be simple (and rather mushy!) but for anniversaries and holidays like Valentine’s Day, my husband and I always agree to exchange meaningful cards rather than big gifts! I’m a complete sucker for a mushy love letter, which was ultimately the inspiration for this party…  hence the title to all of the printables “Sweet Nothings,” “Write Me,” “Love Me,” etc.” – Meredith of MJ Paperie & Party Design

COLOR & DECOR: “My color scheme was red and gray/silver and I knew I wanted some sort of sparkle or shimmer. I found round, glittered hearts that are supposed to be used for hanging and used them for placemats. It was a nice pop of color on top of the gray houndstooth table cloth. I then took glittered hearts and filled a hurricane for the centerpiece. Each place setting included a different printable (Love Me, Hug Me, Squeeze Me, Hold Me, Need Me, Kiss Me), a card to write in (Write Me), a glittered foam heart inside each bowl and a houndstooth napkin made out of the same fabric as the table cloth, tied with a thick, red grosgrain ribbon. Each setting also included a martini glass that either said “Drink Me,” “Sip Me,” or “Martini Me.”‘ – Meredith of MJ Paperie & Party Design

SWEET TREATS & COCKTAILS: The desserts buffet was covered with gray rose mesh and included mini-red velvet cupcakes (Sweet Nothings) with a glittered heart on top and a Champagne Pomegranate liqueur dessert shot topped with a raspberry. This table also included a miniature red mailbox with a card to carry out the “love letters” theme!

  1. Where are the houndstooth tablecloth and napkins from? They’re incredible! Love the whole spread.

    1. Lindsey! I made both out of fabric from JoAnn! Super simple! Just hem (or fabric tape/glue) the edges and you’re good to go!

  2. Those Champagne Pomegranate liqueur dessert shot topped with a raspberry looks delish and festive. Love the glittered accents.
