Place Red Hots and sugar in a saucepan and add just enough water to cover the Red Hots.
Cook the mixture over medium heat until the Red Hots dissolve. The candies will start to clump together and stick to the bottom of the pan, so the mixture needs a lot of stirring.
When all of the candies are dissolved and a couple of drops of red food coloring to intensify the
color.
This syrup is a great addition to your favorite punch or hot cider recipe. You can also poach apples and pears in the syrup for a sweet treat. For a perfect Halloween snack you could add some of the syrup to your favorite caramel apple recipe.
