If you’re heading down the aisle soon and looking for a creative way to ask your bridesmaids to join you in the special day, look no further! Host a sweet “Will You Be My ‘Maid” dinner party. Your girlfriends will feel oh-so-special and you’ll enjoy the chance to catch up on how all the wedding planning is going! The wedding has always been the bride’s day, but who says you can’t make your bridesmaids feel special and loved too? Angela Marie Events used this idea as inspiration to throw a “Will You Be My Maid?” garden party themed get together, giving the bride a turn to pop the question.

As told by Angela: A lively color scheme of vibrant greens and yellows were chosen by the bride as her ”wedding colors” and figured it would be a great color palette for this lovely garden-like party. Loving sunflowers, Anna had to find a pretty color to compliment those vibrant yellow flowers.  She chose grass green dresses by Lula Kate, and everyone had to pick which dress would be theirs!  As a special touch, I even hand drew/cut out dresses to mimic the different styles the maids got to choose from and placed each in the grass down the middle of the table.

Touches of fresh flowers, spring prints and tissue puff decorations set the atmosphere of a garden party. Scrapbook-styled place cards gave the party a personal touch, while margarita glasses full of green jelly beans kept it fun! The bride popped the question with a large picture frame that said, “Will you be my maid?” and had her maids write their response on the glass. Not only did it serve as a creative way to ask her maids, but with their personal responses written on it, it is a piece that the bride will cherish forever.  While sipping on Margaritas, the girls passed around the Ipad and started picking their dresses!

The menu included margaritas, taco soup with heart-shaped jalapeno cornbread, and cupcakes and whoopie pies. Cocktail glasses were turned upside down and used as cupcake holders, and small flower pots were turned upside down and used as a stand for the whoopie pies. Favors were the Jelly Bellys in the glasses that I bagged for each guest so that they could start drinking margaritas!
