As you might know, I moved into a new home last spring so though I’m sure I’m “supposed” to have myself all situated, that’s far from the truth. Life with the Pizzazzerie book and a two year old leaves little time for hanging pictures. Unfortunately or fortunately, I was one of those people that couldn’t focus on homework until my room was clean and that aspect hasn’t really left my personality. Since I work from home, I knew I needed to dive in and tackle my home office so I could actually focus!
Many of you saw my home office post from my old house (you should go see the “before”, I loved how that room turned out), but alas, this home office took on character of its own. I definitely reworked a lot of the items and general style but added in some new pieces too (that I love!!). This room is much smaller which is fine by me since I really only use it for computer work and some crafting. The location of the room is actually one of the reasons I fell in love with this house in the first place. It’s right in the hub of the house, and it’s actually the sunroom which we converted to my office (and added on a French door to allow some quiet when I need it). It’s right off the main entrance to my house while being steps away from the kitchen, living room, and back doors (read: I can keep my toddler happy, let the dog in and all day, and answer the doorbell all within arms reach). The office in my old house was off by itself, upstairs and while it definitely got the job done, it wasn’t practical with a little one on the move.
If you’re going to spend a lot of your time working, might as well LOVE your desk right? I love my desk area! It’s simple and bright but has lots of pops of color. For your reference, I have a full list of resources at the bottom of the post if you’re curious about any items you see! So while I obviously needed a desk in the office, I had a little room on the opposite side of the room so I decided to create a little “living space” that is perfect for working on the couch, meetings, etc. I knew I wanted a chesterfield style sofa because I love the deep seats and tufted details. I found the perfect one at Frontgate, their Barrow Chesterfield Loveseat! It’s quickly become my favorite place to prop my feet up and relax! My husband has already fallen in love with their leather version of the sofa, haha! Wouldn’t it be great in a den?
Since I wanted the space stylish but also cozy, I layered my FAVORITE Sheepskin rug over a simple beige rug. The only problem is keeping the dog and baby from taking it over since they equally love it! It’s so soft! I also love putting a sheepskin rug under a desk or by a bed since it’s so soft! I love how it looks under the coffee table here though! I also love having a chic, simple coffee table because it gives me a space to layout ideas, do a little crafting, or simply let Blakely play with ALL HER STICKERS. Whatever keeps her busy, right?
In any home office, stylish storage is key. I wanted a place for books and little items that I just love! I updated my old shelving unit for this stunning etagere and the gold details are amazing. It also holds quite a bit which is fabulous. Mine is this Camden Etagere! Wouldn’t the smaller version look chic in a nursery with sweet baby items? Or even in a dining room as a sort of side server for plates, glassware.
There you have it! I love how bright and cheery the room is. If you’re going to work, it might as well be in a room you absolutely adore. It’s full of my favorite colors while still being clean and airy with lots of white. Want to see the before of this room (this is from the real estate listing when we were looking at the home). Big difference, right?

Where is the ribbon holder from?
the ribbon holder is actually a vintage bottle drying rack from ebay that i sprayed gold! Go look up “french bottle drying rack” and similar ones should pop up!

Hi Jennifer! It’s a bit of a DIY desk. It was originally a solid black desk from World Market. My Mom and I spray painted it white :)
