Now that I’m not knee-deep in boxes at my new house (ok, who am I kidding, there are still boxes everywhere), I wanted to tackle one of my first DIY projects – Blakely’s playroom with a little kids’ table and chairs! I knew I wanted a bold black and white color scheme with a pop of color. I found the PERFECT bright and preppy raspberry hue. Truly though, check out the color strips that you normally flip right over because you might find something bold for a piece of furniture that might otherwise have been too much for a wall.
Let’s talk details!
TABLE: This is so easy! One visit to the hardware store, and I was done! We picked up a round tabletop (this can be found the lumber/unfinished wood section) and 4 spindles. Yes, these are just spindles used as table legs! The ones we were purchased were actually already white which I loved! Screw them on and you’re good to go!
CHAIRS: I adore the look of chiavari chairs (used at her 1st birthday party and my wedding, for example), but when I spotted MINI versions of the chiavari chairs, I about died. I also got them on sale (super affordable)!
Next step, paint away! UPDATE: I painted this by hand which was a bit tedious. I’m currently playing around with this home decor paint sprayer and so far, so good! I really wish I had already purchased it prior to this project.
Paired with her black and white striped teepee and a cute Kate Spade-inspired polka dot wall, she’s ready for her party playroom! This girl LOVES a party (have you checked out @blakelysparties on Instagram?). The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. She’s ready to throw many cute parties for her stuffed animals and baby dolls in this playroom! I’ll be sharing more pictures of this room on Instagram so be sure you’re following over there too (@pizzazzerie)! I’m SO in love with this beautiful color. I almost want to paint an “accent wall” on the other side of the playroom in the same color, and add on a chalkboard section on top. So many possibilities!
I hope you love this sweet idea for a playroom table and chairs! I plan on adding some art supplies nearby to encourage creativity and countless hours of arts ‘n crafts! So far she loves coloring so I think we might have a little artist on our hands.
Thanks for stopping by and look for more fun updates from this room soon!
