Now that summer is in full-swing, you might find yourself on the road quite a bit to visit family or a much-needed vacation. We could all use a few little snack ideas for packing some “better for you” snacks (and help us avoid fast food)! Pick up some fruit and Cracker Barrel Cheese for these easy to make snack skewers. These are perfect for the kids (or adults too)! What I love about this snack is involving the whole family so let the kids help make the skewers before you hit the road (they”ll be more excited to eat their own creations)! I had some of my favorite little neighborhood helpers over to assist me with these cuties. Take a look at how easy it is…

Make cute kid's snacks with cookie cutters and cheese! First up is making some FUN shapes! I used mini cookie cutters in heart and star shapes. You can let the kids pick their favorite shapes! I also used frosting tips I had around to make “starburst” shaped circles. Having worked with Cracker Barrel Cheese this summer, I have definitely learned that quality counts with this cheese. It’s full of flavor and made with the finest ingredients so you know your whole family is enjoying a quality snack! Here I used the marbled sharp as well as the extra sharp! You can find a full list of their products here (try the flavored ones too). Simply slice and cut to make the cutest shapes for your road trip snacking. You could easily stop at this point and pack up these yummies to go!

You can keep things sweet or savory. Try sliced cucumbers for a savory twist. You can also make the skewers to sit up or lay down! Either way, they’ll be easy to pack in a little “to-go” container for those long road trip snack attacks! Plus, you’ll feel good about feeding your family cheese that is award-winning and crafted with full flavor! If you’re headed on the road with no time to make skewers, you can also pick up cracker cut or cheese sticks of your favorite Cracker Barrel Cheese for super duper easy snacking on the go too.

Fruit and Cheese Kid's SnacksMake an easy “skewer” station for the kids and family to make their snacks before you hit the road. Lay out your Cracker Barrel Cheese along with your favorite additional fruits and vegetables. Add in some fun skewers (these pom-pom sticks are from my local craft store) and get snacking! Keep it festive with fun, striped napkins! It’s all about the “little things” that add some pizzazz to those long car rides!
