Layered, THE must-buy book for cake lovers!

I’m GIDDY over this book. Here’s a little backstory. It’s summer of 2012, and I’m a newlywed spending every waking second working on my Frostings book knowing full-well I’d need major help for the book shoot. Enter Tessa Huff. I discovered Tessa through the rabbit hole online and quickly realized she’d be the perfect right-hand gal to help with  Frostings. She flew out from California to Nashville, and she was every bit as fabulous as I imagined. During our time whipping up more frostings than I care to remember, we chatted quite a bit about her own goals. I told her she had to write a book, she was oh so talented. Ready?…fast forward a few years..and her debut cookbook is here. Layered is just gorgeous!

I’m so ready to do some baking – AND EAT CAKE, who is with me?! From pink peppercorn cherry to bourbon butterscotch, and pumpkin vanilla chai to riesling rhubarb and raspberry chocolate stout, this book has it all. Plus, I love the graphics and all her techniques. You truly feel like she’s in your kitchen helping you step-by-step. The cakes are the perfect blend of whimsical yet sophisticated. I love the book for the decorating techniques ALONE, but add in her favorite cake recipes? It’s a winner. She’s the real deal, y’all!

This would be such a cute book to gift along with a few baking tools like a spatula, piping tips, a cake stand, etc. Anyone who loves throwing parties needs this book on their shelf! I have a friend getting married this summer and she *might* be getting this gorgeous book at her bridal shower! ;)
