Modern Pink & Gold New Year’s Party
New Year’s Eve is a time to celebrate the ending of one year and the welcoming of a new one! Jenni of A Well Crafted Party styled a fabulously chic New Year’s Eve Party as a collaboration with Portland Bloggers! We’re excited to share it with you…
Jenni wrote up a wonderful inspiration + party detail list so I just had to share it with you so you can get all the tips and ideas to throw your own modern NYE party!
Party Details
The phrase “It’s time to drink champagne and dance on the table!” has been running around the web these past few months and has made me oh-so-giddy about this year’s holiday parties. New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to break out the bubbly and have some fun.
Our New Year’s Eve celebration shoot was so much fun to put together. We worked with the beautiful home of Adi from Garden of Edlen and created a fun party space using home and Christmas decor and popping in some New Year’s Eve specific elements.
Decor Elements we loved:
- Baubles everywhere! I am a big fan of using your holiday decor throughout the season. We took out some of the holiday items that would clash with our color scheme— santa figurines and red ornaments were packed away. With New Year’s Eve only one week after Christmas it is too much trouble, for me, to pack up all the Christmas items and pull off a completely new decorated space that will just have to come down again.
- Wood Elements. I loved the idea of toning down a posh event, just a tad, by adding in wood elements. The DIY wood and gold platters, wood-printed paper goods, and wooden frames just gave the touch of relaxed atmosphere that I was looking for! I found many of the wood elements at Ross and the wooden frames at Michaels Craft Store.
- Cheeky NYE Signs. Two of my favorite signs were about kissing at midnight. A sign reading, “Don’t wait til Midnight… get your kisses here!” was placed over a bowl of color-coordinated Hershey Kisses. A sign that read, “Get Kiss Ready” was placed by a bowl of mints and a bowl of brand new lip balms.
Menu: The delicious menu was created by Bee of The Spicy Bee and Kate of Fork and Vine. They whipped up several yummy hors d’oeuvres, signature cocktails, and a delicious cake! They stayed away from the traditionally unlucky dish of lobster, and instead, focused on treats that were bite sized and rich in flavor!
Blinis with crème fraîche and caviar
Crab salad in endive boats
Moroccan style stuffed dates
Savory Chèvre Balsamic Chips–Veggie chips with chèvre Brie goat cheese, micro greens, balsamic vinegar, and Tunisian spiced olives
Chianti Basil Bites–Chianti red wine hard salami, jalapeño jack cheese, cherry tomato, and fresh basil with a drop of Tabasco for a bite
Ginger Lemon ring cake with maple drizzle
Signature Cocktails – Rosemary bliss cocktail & Blush Elderflower Champagne Cocktail
Party Style: New Year’s Eve is the time to sparkle! The ladies chose their own clothing with tips from Sarah from The Confessions of a Product Junkie. She suggested wearing brightly colored lipstick and nail polish for a bit of a punch at the party. I love the idea of a pop of bright lip color on a night that ends with a kiss! And, because it was a party, Sarah brought party hats for everyone to don in two different styles and in colors that coordinated, but didn’t necessarily match the event!
