Nautical Backyard Summer Dinner Party
Happy Friday! I’m excited to share my nautical backyard summer dinner party with Target Home as part of a sponsored campaign with Socialstars #TargetCrowd.
Though I might not live on the coast (I’m still struggling with the fact that Tennessee is landlocked after growing up in the Carolinas), I decided it was due time to bring the coast to Nashville. Thus, my dream of the perfect nautical backyard dinner party was a reality! I love a good dinner party in warm summer weather! Add in string lights and super fabulous tabletop decor to match? The hostess in me is one happy gal. Thankfully, partnering with Target for this backyard dinner party was a total dream. Absolutely everything I needed (including lawn games!!) was purchased in one easy Target run. Easy is my absolute favorite game when little Blakely is in tow! In and out and done. Yep, everything on the table is from Target, hello easy summer entertaining!
The Target Home section is my favorite place to start when setting out to throw the ultimate backyard party. I instantly saw the fabulous citron yellow and navy anchor pillow and was hooked. Then I saw the larger marquee anchor and though it is meant to hang on a wall, it made the perfect glowing centerpiece (battery operated!). I encourage you to think outside the box for party decor! The home section is a great place to start. I also spotted a two-tier galvanized plant stand and instantly knew it would be perfect for holding drinks and fresh fruits. It’s my new favorite entertaining piece (perfect for picnics too!).
Next, I found fabulous navy and white melamine plates. I love that they’re shatter-proof, perfect for outdoors! You know me and stripes so I fell in love with the yellow stripe place mats! I used jute string ($1!) to tie around white cutlery paired with a kraft name label for a simple place setting. I also spotted the cutest dotted koozies in the dollar section and grabbed up 6 for holding beverages. These made the cutest take-home favor for guests. Plus, they matched the navy dotted pillow too!
As the sun went down, string lights over the table created the perfect ambiance. I might just leave these up all summer long! We enjoyed pineapple mojitos (recipe coming soon!) served up on this fabulous navy tray. I absolutely love the party section at Target. I picked up fun anchor napkins, navy plastic cups, and cute straws. All super affordable and matched the theme perfectly. We also enjoyed lawn games too! I grabbed badminton sets and a few other games and placed them all down in a fun beverage tub turned game holder! It was a great way to corral all the games.
So now that school is almost out and the weather is nicer, I encourage you to invite some friends over and throw a backyard summer dinner party! Send me pics (I’d love to see!) and I hope I provided you with a little inspiration. Oh and stay tuned for that pineapple mojito recipe, it’s delicious! Cheers!
