GUEST POST by STACY BROWN of PREPPY & PINK

“I had the opportunity to style a baby shower recently and I must say that I was quite pleased with the end result! First things first, and keeping with my LOVE of anything and everything summer, I decided the theme would be “Kennedy’s Beach Baby Blast“. The party colors would be pink and green {what did you expect, right?!?!}.

I found lots of nautical goodies and painted them to coordinate with the theme. I came up with the idea of a “message in a bottle” to allow guests to have a place to leave sweet notes for baby Kennedy and her mommy and daddy. We painted small tins to resemble sand pails and placed them in the center of the tables complete with party favors and super preppy pink and green polka dot balloons! Also, to add to the fun, we constructed a “Beach Party” sign to look like it was made of old weathered wood and to direct guests to the party entrance.

Wanting to keep with the theme, I decided the shower cake needed to look like a huge sandcastle. To create that illusion, we used a large wooden (handmade) cupcake tree covered with lots of yummy cupcakes with custom cupcake wrappers we made and white chocolate candy seashells that were sprinkled with graham cracker crumbs to look like sand, of course! For the top we decided on a 6″ round cake that was decorated to look like a real sandcastle complete with a pennant topper we made that said “Kennedy”!

Other decorations included a fishing net I dyed pink and lots and lots of handpainted fish, crabs, and whales. The party favors included “Thank You” suckers, mini candy bars with custom wrappers, and pipettes filled with pink and green gumballs with super cute tags that read, “Thanks for coming! We hope you had a “ball”., and custom waterbottle labels!

Soooo many tiny details came together to make this party extra special. Little Kennedy is one lucky girl to have so so many people that already love her so much!”

@pizzazzerie I love them too!! The little whale… SO CUTE. But this time, the only thing that’s mine are the water labels (printed & shipped) – Stacy made the tags and signs herself : )
