Woodland Tea Party Baby Shower

I‘m so excited to share this baby shower with you! One of my favorite blogging friends who happens to be half of the dynamic entertaining duo behind Valley & Co. just had a baby girl as well. In fact, Aleah and I were both due on the same day with baby girls and loved following along on our pregnancy journeys! Now I get to share her own baby shower right here with all of you. It was a Woodland Tea Party Baby Shower that is full of darling details and embellishments. Read below for lots of details from Aleah herself!

“I’m so excited to share my woodland tea party baby shower on Pizzazzerie – it was a magical day surrounded by some of my favorite girls in the world, it was such a treat to be on the receiving end having such a sweet party planned by own marvelous mom! She’s always encouraged me to do what I love and my early love of throwing festive fetês was largely inspired by her. She always throws in the perfect balance of classic elegance mixed with a good dose of whimsy, whether she’s setting the table for Christmas dinner, a casual summer BBQ or birthday celebrations for us all. This day was no exception!

She painted the picture of such a beautiful and stellar special setting – afternoon tea with all of the trimmings – complete with delicious lemony crab and asparagus tea sandwiches, prosciutto and Gruyere scones with clotted cream and homemade pasilla pepper jelly, anise pizzelles {handmade made especially by my mom’s friend, Chef Hope Borsato}, and all sorts of amazingly decadent little bites alongside an out-of-this-world ginger brew punch with floating bundt cake ice cubes and edible flowers in an enormous silver floral bowl. A gorgeous dessert display was an added feast for the senses, with miniature cakes adorned with sweet Swiss dots and handmade gum paste cherry blossoms. Tiny pink donuts were a big hit as well!

The scene was a treat in itself. She went to town and transformed the space into a charming woodland tea party, with tiny tables seated for 36 decked out with moss-filled terrariums with nestled woodland creatures and teeny wooden toad stools. Blooming cherry blossoms were nestled among freshly cut birch branches {my mom and dad scooped them from the island where they live to make these amazing and fresh centerpieces} topped with heavenly ranunculus, vibrant anemones and fringed tulips. It was as if spring had just sprung!

To sweeten the day, every guest was greeted at their place setting with some truly fabulous tea party take-home treats. Nick’s mom hand picked about 40 vintage fine china patterned tea sets and each gal was welcomed with one mismatched set on her place setting. My mom sent everyone home with the tea sets, scalloped hankies embroidered with a flower bouquet motif, bookmarks illustrated by my talented brother {who illustrated the adorable woodland invites and canvas}, custom made tea, and all sorts of delights. The little wooden creature place card holders were so delightful! It was the kind of afternoon that we didn’t want to end! I’ll always treasure the images and the fun memories!”
