A Modern Baby Celebration
Christening: A Modern Baby Celebration
Last month, I had the pleasure of enjoying lunch with one of my favorite event planners and designers, Camille Styles. She is a delight and her blog, Style Notes, is a personal favorite. Camille styled this baptism reception for a dear friend’s twin 8-month-olds. Camille shared with us some of her inspiration and details for this charming christening.
“Using an ethereal palette of cream, white & silver, we incorporated gauzy tulle, ruffly blooms & huge balloons to add texture and interest. It all added up to a dreamy & modern vibe that would be fantastic inspiration for any baby celebration.”
FAVORITE TIPS
– Fluffy pom-poms adorned the top of favor boxes filled with delicious vanilla and lemon cake balls. Camille shared “They added plenty of WHIMSY and were super easy to put together.” CLICK HERE to learn how to make your own pom-poms with easy steps and pictures!
– Menus add such a touch to a table setting when simply placed over the dinner plate. Camille tells us why she loved creating these menus, “One of my favorite elements of the tables is the beribboned menu cards. Such a fun way to add color and texture to an otherwise white table! We simply cut three long strips of ribbon, made tiny slits in the top and bottom of the menu cards, then ran the ribbon through the back. Loop the entire thing over a square-folded napkin for a sweet look.”
– Camille wove lavender as a subtle accent throughout the whole celebration from the invitations to the favors. A tiny sprig was even left at each place setting. As Camille said, “Since lavender represents purity and devotion, it was a perfectly fitting token to commemorate such a special day among family & friends.” We love this!
