Adorable Purple Balloon Birthday Party!
You wouldn’t immediately think “low-budget” when you see this party table, would you? This is the perfect example of a party on a budget done very well! Lindsey of Very Truly Me and her friend pulled out all sorts of fun DIY ideas for little Krosby’s 1st birthday party. The party theme couldn’t be more simple – PURPLE BALLOON – and look how absolutely stunning it turned out? Love. Check out the rest of the photos & party details (including a little freebie!).
How adorable is this DIY invitation with the purple and white baker’s twine? Lindsey is one talented gal. From the baby spool to the little aqua ribbon, this invite is at the top of my favorite list! Do you love it too? Good, because Lindsey has the free downloadable files (one for boy + one for girl) over on her blog.
Lindsey and her friend had to get creative on a low budget by making a lot of the party elements with supplies they already owned. You can also find great affordable first birthday party supplies online or at your local party stores. Or like Lindsey, you can go shopping in your very own home. I adore the “glittery cloud-shaped lollipop holders” and handmade frame made using a chipboard letter! Because the party was at a park with available grills to use, they took advantage of it and grilled hotdogs and cheese burgers. For dessert, guests enjoyed vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting sprinkled with formally white pearl sprinkles that were dyed purple and aqua with food coloring.
The girls did a mini-photo shoot with the birthday girl and a giant purple balloon bought from Lindsey’s favorite online party store, Shop Sweet Lulu (our fave too!). The cake was made by a local bakery in Mesa, AZ called SugarLips. Many of the other party elements, like the white ruffle fabric used for the table skirt and lollipops, were bought at Lindsey’s local craft store called Scrapbook Etc.
I truly love how a simple theme and a small budget can turn into such an adorable party that will surely be a special memory for Krosby and her family!
