Eloise at the Plaza Party!
One of our favorite childhood books is Eloise At The Plaza by Kay Thompson. It’s the most darling story of a little girl – Eloise – who grows up at the Plaza in New York City. It’s full of whimsy and cuteness. This party idea shows how to throw an Eloise party (without breaking the bank)! Use items you have around the house in new ways. Striped fabric made the perfect tablecloth and simple yellow cupcakes are embellished with rose buds.
Eloise has a turtle named Skipperdee so a little turtle figurine on the table makes the perfect decoration. Framed postcards of Eloise (print off pictures for an alternative) make fabulous decor for the table! Eloise LOVES fashion so use high heels, jewelry, and clutches for more table decor!
For a cute centerpiece, make one of these candy flower vases! Here’s how…
DIY CANDY FLOWER VASE!
1. You’ll need two cylindrical vases (one a bit smaller than the other).
2. Place your roses (or flowers of your choosing) down in the smaller vase filled with water.
3. Take hard candy sticks (you can find a wide assortment of colors of these hard candies) and place them between vertically in the space between the vases.
4. Fill it all the way up!
5. Tie a big pretty bow and you’re all set!
