Lilly Inspired DIY Project: Preppy Turtle Party
Preppy Turtle Party
You may have seen the amazing Lilly Pulitzer inspired birthday party over on Amy Atlas the other day designed by Kori of Paper and Pigtails and photographed by Courtney Vickers Photography. We love Kori’s creativity, and we are so happy that she has shared her steps for creating the cute streamers and circle accents you see everywhere in the design with an easy two step process!

This is an easy way to use supplies that you already have around the house to create something new and fun. Use any kind of punch that you have to re-create this look at your next party, and after you have created the streamers, you can create extra circles to use elsewhere. Kori also used the cut out circles to create the very cute cupcake toppers, signs for the other desserts, as well as the accent piece for the favor box.
I don’t know about you, but I sure wish I had been a guest at this birthday party! Such a cute party and the DIY project is something that we all can do!

Katie
Hi Ya’ll – It’s Courtney, I’m hijacking Katie’s post to add in that I ADORE THIS PARTY! I was a silly one growing up and loved turtles! Here is a random funny story about me. I grew up in downtown Charleston, SC which can get brutally hot in the summers. There are horse carriage tours that ride along the downtown streets and stop randomly to give historical facts about the area. One of the stops was right outside my house and thus, my smarty pants brother found a way to make some money in the summers – Lemonade Stand! Let me tell you, he made so.much.money! Tourists love cute little kids. Well, since he did not allow me to be official “business partner” – I went into business for myself. I made a sign out of crayons that said “Pet my Turtle 5 cents, Hold my Turtle 10 cents. If he goes weewee on you, it’s free”. I kid you not, I made MORE money than big brother (frankly because everyone stopped for lemonade then handed me a dollar because they thought I was cute). Made the Charleston newspaper on that one. Long story short, I have a little love for turtles and so Kori’s party just sent me over the moon – love it!
Cute party and cute story Courtney! :)
I just adore Kori’s party!!
And C, that story made me laugh so hard! You were a smart little girl! HAHA
such a SWEET tutorial and party element from Kori! LOVED her turtle party!
and your turtle story is too funny Courtney!
Wow! Just gorgeous and your turtle story had me laughing. Love the ideal location for a lemonade/cutey-pie girl story too. Much better than my golf course tee with 1 foursome every 20 minutes or so…
Thank you so much for the party feature and showing my DIY streamers!! Your turtle story made me laugh out loud! Too cute!
Absolutely LOVE this!
Haha Courtney, that story was priceless. I love it!!
Thanks for sharing, this is so adorable :)
I am a Delta Zeta. Our colors are pink and green and our mascot is a turtle! What a perfect alumni party idea!
