{Party Feature} Vintage Country Fair Party!
This is one of my favorite parties I’ve been able to share here on Pizzazzerie (that’s saying a lot because I really do love all of them!). I don’t know if it’s the mix of aqua and red or the adorable patterns (y’all know I love gingham!) or the fun fair themed games throughout the yard – who am I kidding? Every ounce of this party is amazing (I mean, the kid had PIE instead of cake! Too cute!) and looks like it was truly fun for the whole family! Read on as Mindy shares a few more details from this festive party for her son, Grayson!
I wanted to do a vintage country fair theme for my son’s first birthday. I found an invite that I fell head over heels for and basically planned the entire event around it. Most of the elements of the party were DIY. I sewed all the bunting myself, my husband made the “petting zoo” from a wardrobe box, and the games were all DIY. The games included: A can toss made of left over formula containers covered in scrapbook paper. A bean bag toss made with baskets from the dollar store and bean bags I made with left over material. Lastly a duckie match where children matched the colors on the bottom of rubber duckies. Activities included: A “pony ride”, on a rocking horse. A “hayride” in a red wagon filled with hay. A ball pit, an art station, petting zoo barn, and a “water coral.” Lastly, a photobooth made with PVC pipe and a family heirloom quilt. Each child got to take home a “goldfish” home with them as a prize, which was a plastic fish in bubble bath. The food served was typical “fair food.? We served soft pretzels, corn dogs, popcorn, kettle corn, fruit, and veggies. The deserts were a favorite though. The “sweets” hutch included: blueberry and peach mini – pies, churros, cotton candy, and caramel apple bites. For beverages we offered: Lemonade, Adult Lemonade, Coke, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and water. Instead of cake, Grayson ate blueberry pie! He loved every bite!

This is fantastic! One of my favorites that you have blogged about as well. Keep the inspiration coming. I love it!
Fantastic ideas !! I am struggling to come up with party plan for my son’s first birthday. I have never hosted any parties. Thank you as I think I may have some ideas now.
Beautiful party! Where did you get those plastic fish bowls you used for prizes?
Hi Katie! This is a feature we did of the party so we didn’t style this. You’ll find all the sources within the post as well as at the end. You’ll have to reach out to the person who hosted the party. Thanks!
