Pumpkin Painting 1st Birthday Party
Meredith Santucci, co-owner of MJ Paperie, sent in the most adorable pumpkin-themed 1st birthday! I love pulling in seasonal themes for birthdays. It makes the event festive and fun for everyone. Guests at little Avery’s 1st birthday enjoyed pumpkin painting and sweet fall treats. I especially love the invitations featuring a photo envelope liner (see above) – clever + cute!
Take a look at these super cute pictures (LOVE the Santucci Farms sign!)
“This past Saturday, the 15th, we kicked up our heels and celebrated our daughter, Avery’s 1st birthday at our home (nicknamed, “The Santucci Farms & Pumpkin Patch!”),” shared Meredith of MJ Paperie. “We invited family and friends from all ends to BYOP (pumpkin) to paint, and that we did (invitation included in photos!) It was a fun MESS! We chose this theme for a number of reasons, but we’ve called her “pumpkin” throughout the year and couldn’t resist the pumpkin patch motif due to the rapidly changing seasons here in Indiana. It ended up being extremely fitting for the time of year, brisk air, turning leaves and all!”
“As for the decor, I found two coordinating fabrics that I adored along with burlap and ran with that color scheme (orange floral and orange polka dot.) I covered the serving tables in orange floral fabric topped with burlap overlays and did the reverse for the guest tables. I was real happy with the overall look… it meshed! I also found orange and white dot paper that mimicked one of the fabrics and carried that through on the cupcake toppers, food tent cards and garland. The month-by-month bunting hanging between the trees was a FUN project! I layered the two fabrics over burlap and adhered a picture from each month of her first year of life to a doily. It turned out even better than I’d mentally pictured. Extras included personalized stadium cups, coordinating paper lanterns, vases covered in orange dot fabric, mums inserted into pumpkins and more!”
“As for the menu, we served “Pumpkin Patch Pulled Pork,” “Cornstalk Chili,” “Grandma’s Cheesy Potatoes,” “Pumpkin Patch Spice Cake,” Cupcakes, Pumpkin Spiced Coffee and several other pickings and sweets! Everyone enjoyed the food and had a ball with the jarred pumpkin spice cake… that was a hit!”
I love the painting pumpkins! What a fun way to decorate them (and they last longer)!
