Sock Monkey 1st Birthday Party!

When this sweet party submission arrived in our inbox, my editorial assistant Kelly and I had to pick our jaws off the ground. We are in love with the retro feel of this red + aqua sock monkey birthday party sent in by reader, Vanessa of The Crafty Nest. Sock Monkey Birthdays are super adorable (check out this brown + red vintage sock monkey birthday we featured last year). Vanessa left no detail out from the monkey treats, decorated party hats, cake pops, and even a time capsule for little Logan! This little boy has a very special Mom! Check out all the pictures of Logans party… + more details below!

Vanessa of The Crafty Nest shared how she designed her son Logan’s sock monkey birthday party…

“We celebrated Logan’s 1st birthday with a red and aqua sock monkey themed party. Guests were greeted at the door with a sock monkey wreath and hand painted ONE letters, finished off with mini bunting to match the decor inside.  Instead of a traditional guestbook, guests signed Happy Birthday to You! by Dr. Seuss and wrote wishes for Logan’s time capsule that will be opened on his 18th birthday.

I made most of the decorations, including a monthly photo banner and handmade party hats.  Guests enjoyed decorating their own sock monkey and scooping up monkey treats at the candy buffet, that included handmade sock monkey cookies and cake pops.  The sock monkey cake matched the graphics used throughout the party and I made the mini flag bunting that sat on top.  The antique red highchair was a yard sale find and I added mini flag bunting to it that matched the bunting above the candy buffet table.

The birthday boy wore an adorable sock monkey romper that matched the hand sewn table runners.  Post-cake smash, Logan changed into a sock monkey shirt that I made him using felt and embroidery thread.  Everyone had a blast and it was the perfect way to celebrate Logan’s 1st year of life! “

Is there any way to get the actual sock monkey image you used on your printables? I went to Chickabug and don’t really like their image as much.

    Thanks

@ekdonohoe My advice would be to email Vanessa at The Crafty Nest (linked above) and she can give you more details about the printables used :) She designed the party, we featured it.

Where did you get the party hats, cupcake toppers, and cupcake wrappers?

  5. Any suggestions on where to get the O, N, and E large letters used in the wagon?
