Toy Story Birthday Party
Toy Story Birthday Party
Toy Story is such a popular movie as well as children’s party theme, and we were WOW’d by Beth Kruse’s rendition of this fun theme. Beth wanted to take the commercial Toy Story theme and make it unique for her daughter who loves Woodie and Jessie from the movie. Beth focused on making the party special yet reasonable as far as budget. She made a lot of the items on her own! Her color palette was red, yellow, and a “natural” brown. She found bandanna party supplies at Hobby Lobby which jump-started her party designing. Hobby Lobby is one of my personal favorites for all kinds of party designing supplies.
Beth used the cowgirl/cowboy theme and incorporated a lot of bandanna print, cow print, burlap, jute and hay. She also decorated with lots of pictures of Jessie, Woody, bullseye and horses. Beth described some of the fun games that the kids played at the game, “for games i thought up “there’s a snake in my boot” because my daughter always thought it was so funny that Woody said that. The kids had to throw a snake into the bucket (boot). We tried to see how far away they could get and still make it. The second game was “water the horse“. Then we played “pin the tail on bullseye”.
Beth even made the cake herself, and it was her first time using fondant. She did such an amazing job – the cake is one of our favorite parts about this darling party theme! Beth told us how she made the smore pops, “All you do is melt the chocolate, put a marshmallow on a stick, dip it into the chocolate, then roll in crushed graham crackers. I put the sticks into a styrofoam square then pop in the fridge for awhile to set the chocolate.” We love the idea, Beth!
Another neat touch? The handmade food labels, applesauce covers, and horse labels on the cups. So neat! And guess what? Beth is doing custom orders for designs, you can find her etsy shop here!
I’m doing a Toy Story party next weekend and now I feel I have to step up my game…thanks so much for the ideas!!!!
