Tips for a Stylish Last Minute Dinner Party
Happy Friday! I’m over the moon to share a recent backyard dinner party I styled with the help of Frontgate! This will kick off a series of upcoming outdoor tablescapes and accompanying party ideas that I’m so excited about! To no surprise, I’ve brought in lots of color in this party with gorgeous blues, aquas, greens, and white. I love a neutral color palette, but summer is the perfect time to dabble in brights for a change. Come along and take a look at the pictures and visit the rest of my interview over on Frontgate’s HOME+STYLE blog!
UPDATE: Frontgate created a happy little section devoted to everything used in this dinner party, easy shopping here!
One of my favorite details from this tablescape are the tassel napkin rings. They’re playful and fun which pairs so well with the elephant motif on the Elephant Dinnerware! I even tied in the elephant to the personalized place cards, so hop over to their blog for my little secret on creating those! I tried to be sure all the added touches and details were easy to do at the last-minute because entertaining is so often something that happens without much notice.
HOST A BACKYARD DINNER PARTY…
It’s no surprise I love tableware, but I specifically love tableware that transitions from backyard dinner parties to indoor year-round dinnerware! So I was thrilled that this elephant dinnerware does just that! It’s a playful set that is great to have alongside simple white dishes and cake stands.
Lanterns are a must for any outdoor party. They provide the perfect glowing ambiance as the sun sets and that’s where these darling pagoda lanterns really take the spotlight. I love the smaller size for tablescapes (so you can still chat with guests across the table) but love the larger size for home decor.
I adore all the tablescape details themselves, but what really made the biggest impact were the PARIS BISTRO CHAIRS. Oh my gracious! Y’all. I LOVE these chairs! They’re lightweight, add the perfect pop of color, and can easily be used year-round or pulled out for special occasions. Toss those old fold-out chairs, friends, and keep a few of these beauties on hand for times that call for extra seating!
This charming, backyard tablescape is definitely one of my favorites. You could easily give it a few twists to become a special occasion celebration too. Add balloons, champagne, and a fancied up birthday cake (see my tip on last-minute desserts here) for a birthday. The blue and white is a color scheme that is fitting for almost any celebration, and it’s just perfect for your backyard dinner parties!
