{Recipe} Pizzelle Nutella S’mores!
When I discovered this Pizzelle maker, I was absolutely positive I had to try it out and make s’mores with the little cookies. One of my bridesmaids + best friends is in town so we took on this sweet project. We loveeeee Nutella so that was our natural choice for “chocolate”. The maker produces a bit smaller cookie than the normal pizzelle. I love this because they’re perfect for individual servings.
I also think they’d be delicious with honey drizzle inside or even jam. OR peanut butter. OR roll them up while still warm and make cannoli.. OR roll them into baby waffle cones. You get the idea… endless possibilities. We had to try s’mores though. So here we go…
So here is the recipe for the pizzelle batter that we used. It could have had a bit more sugar for a sweeter cookie but we knew it would get the sweetness from nutella + marshmallows so it was perfect.
PIZZELLE COOKIE RECIPE
3 eggs
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup sugar
Beat eggs until smooth. Add oil and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Add sugar to egg mixture and slowly add flour mixture. Beat vigorously for about 5 minutes. Batter will be smooth and sticky. If does not drop off a spoon, add a little water (I added about 1/4 cup). I still had to use a second spoon to help get the batter to drop off the spoon, however. Drop batter by spoonful and bake for 45-60 seconds. Use a plastic spatula to slowly pull the cookies off.
A little looksie into the dropping of the batter! The key is not to use too much, about a tablespoon.
Of course, we have to have our nutella and our marshmallows. For the marshmallows, simply preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line marshmallows onto a glass 8×8 dish sprayed with PAM. Bake for 6-8 minutes or until tops are golden brown. Mmm…
Getting hungry, yet? We were! So the process is pretty simply from here. Take a pizzelle cookie and spread with nutella to your heart’s delight. Top with one (or three) toasted marshmallows. Here is what it looks like at this point…mmmm…
Finish by topping with another pizzelle cookie. Delicious looking huh? They were good ;)
Ahhh… DELISH! Absolutely fabulous. I would DEFINITELY serve a platter of these to football-watching friends, backyard dinner party guests, you name it! They were totally decadent.
What do you think? Want to try it? Do you like nutella in your s’mores? Leave a comment below (bloggers love comments, by the way, we read them all!)
Anything with Nutella in it will always pique my interest, this one looks fantastic! (By the way, is your Nutella in a glass jar? Why does mine always come in a yucky plastic one?!?)
Hi Carrie! It’s plastic too :) Just looks glass I guess.
Omg!!! Yum yum. Too delicious && simply a favorite
Those look delicious!! I love smores. ;)
I L.O.V.E. Nuttela…and the thought of using it for s’mores
I have an older pizzelle machine so the cookies will be a little larger than your cookies but I will have to try the nutella/marshmallow combination.
I don’t have a pizzelle machine but I do have a homemade waffle maker and it kind of made me think of my waffle maker and then made me think of how much I want to make waffle smores….
Just saying…I will make ANYTHING into a smore and then proceed to consume 500 of them.
SMORE!
What an adorable idea! So fun! I just used my pizzelle maker to make mini ice cream cones for an ice cream social I had. I also decided that plain mini cones weren’t good enough, so then I dipped the tops in chocolate. =)
Wow, these look yummy! I had no idea there was such a thing as a pizzelle maker! Thanks for sharing the recipe, I will have to try someday.
Yum! I’ve never had pizzelles, but they sound great…and now I want a pizzelle maker!
Love finding this recipe…Nutella has been a favorite of mine since I was growing up, it makes you smile!
Wonder if you could substitute graham cracker crumbs for some of the flour. Would give it an authentic s’more flavor
Love these! How do you store them and for how long? Thanks!
