Red + Blue Election Themed Wedding Shoot
The election is right around the corner and we thought we’d share the “pretty” side of this election with this gorgeous election-themed wedding shoot. An absolutely charming team of vendors put together this wedding shoot (including Calligraphy Etc. who we adore). The bride was glammed up with red shoes and bouquet (I want those shoes!). As you can see, the Groom sported a bright blue bow tie to show his party colors in style! From the invitation to the signs, menu, and place cards, everything resonates a “rustic election” theme (with the wood grain background, eye-catching fonts and party color accents). {Beautiful photography by Linda Schilberg Photography + desserts by Simply Decadent Bakery}
Mason jar floral arrangements and a touch of burlap help enhance the look, as well as a “ballot box” for guests to leave advice for the bride and groom! My sweet friend Kandice of Calligraphy Etc. designed the invitations, signage, and paper details. She said, “The tiny campaign buttons on each escort card are one of my favorite details – and they would be such a fun little favor for guests to take and wear for the rest of the evening!” We agree!
For the reception, the idea of opposing napkins with “Let’s get this party started!” add a little whimsy, and the mini pies in mason jars keep with the rustic feel but add some contrast to the traditional bride and groom’s cakes. As a signature cocktail for the event, Calligraphy Etc. and the team concocted a “Bipartisan Sparkler” (Cran-Apple juice, Champagne, Mint and Blueberries) for guests to sip on through the red/white striped paper straws.
Adorning the Bride and Groom’s table with bright red and blue chair sashes adds a pop of color to the simple and elegant table setting. Other small details that pack a big punch are the over-sized balloons, hanging American flag and patriotic bunting. Plus, the addition of flags to the limousine gives the couples’ send off a “dignitary” feel – which is perfect for any newlyweds!
How cute is the invitation suite? I love the clever little phrases and unique elements (like circling the menu selection!).
I just love those shoes! Doesn’t this election themed wedding have you more excited about all the election talk? It sure has me loving red, white, + blue!

Kandice this is fantastic! Kimberly thought her graduation announcements were extraordinary and plans on you doing her wedding and engagement announcement as well. It will be a year before we tackle that. You are so very talented.
