Ugly Sweater Christmas Party

The charming Rebekah of A Blissful Nest told me about an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party she had worked on, and I was all kinds of excited to see the pictures! We love showcasing gorgeous cocktail parties, holiday children’s parties, etc, but this party theme is one I know a lot of people celebrate around the country.

I have seen some true “winners” in the tacky sweater department over the past years at various “ugly sweater parties”. Guests come wearing an ugly or tacky Christmas sweater. Think 3D hanging pom-poms, horribly oversized and puff-paint snowmen on fluffy, oversized neon red sweaters. Hilariously atrocious.

This party, however, took this fun theme and added delightfully whimsical holiday details from the plaid and tartan prints and festive treats! I must say that the cotton candy atop striped green straws is very original! Hosted by Nicole Benitez, Orange County/San Diego area photographer, as a house warming, guests enjoyed plaid patterned cake balls, sweater adorned cupcakes, and all sorts of sweet treats.
