Now that we’ve survived the holidays and all the heavy eating and drinking, it seems fitting to share a simple and fresh family snack idea that’s perfect for quick breakfasts on-the-go or serving up at brunches, baby showers, and other celebrations! I’m talking about fruit and granola custard parfaits! Guess what, Yoplait Custard is BACK!
Does anyone remember this amazing treat as a kid? It has returned to shelves and it makes the creamiest and most delicious little parfaits! After being discontinued, Yoplait was bombarded with fans tweeting, calling, and emailing begging for its return. They listened, and this spoon-hugging, silky-smooth Custard has returned! Hooray!
Yoplait Custard is made with whole milk from cows free of rBGH/rBST growth hormones. It has no colors or flavors from artificial sources and contains live and active cultures!
Parfaits are so easy to personalize and create new and original flavor combinations because it’s truly just layers of creamy custard with granola, fruit, and mix-ins. If you’re not feeling very creative, however, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered with a handy little chart below of some crowd-pleasing combinations! The Yoplait Custard comes in the following flavors; strawberry, vanilla, caramel, lemon, banana, and blueberry! I can attest they’re all delicious but strawberry is my favorite!
YOPLAIT CUSTARD FLAVOR — MIX-INS
Strawberry – Mixed Berries, Granola and Sliced Almonds
Vanilla – Cooked Apples & Pears, Pecans and Cinnamon
Caramel – Chocolate Chips, Granola and Sea Salt
Lemon – Blueberries, Graham Cracker Crumbs, Whipped Topping
Blueberry – Mixed Berries, Granola, and Grated Citrus
Banana – Grapes, Granola, and Peanut Butter Drizzle
Vanilla – Bananas, Granola, Peanut Butter Drizzle and Chocolate Chips
Of course, I encourage you to mix and match your favorite flavor varieties, but these are just a few of my favorite suggestions. If you’re making parfaits for the kids, then add on a few sprinkles on top. My daughter loves adding a little sprinkle finish to just about everything! Just use a long spoon to layer in your custard, fruit, and mix-ins. Always finish with a little something fun like one last raspberry or sprinkle of sliced almonds!
What to serve your parfaits in? If you’re hosting a celebration like a bridal or baby shower, opt for stemmed glasses for a fancy touch. Even champagne glasses make perfect parfait holders. If you want to have these parfaits on hand for easy meals on the go, then opt for little glass jars with lids that can easily be stores in the refrigerator for a delicious breakfast or snack. Here’s a little tip of mine; Keep small glass jars from the grocery store, rinse them out, remove the label and save them!
These fruit and granola parfaits would be perfect served alongside my Croque Madame Cups!
I hope you’re inspired to head to the store and find Yoplait Custard to make these tasty and cute fruit and granola custard parfaits! Make one for yourself or a whole batch for a crowd!
