Christmas in the Dining Room | My Holiday Tablescape
Take a peek inside my home this Christmas season with my Red & Gold Christmas Tablescape!
My Christmas Tablescape
While I love decorating the Christmas tree, making Christmas cookies and all the other holiday festivities, what I love most of all is setting my holiday tablescape! This year, I decided on a red and gold theme.
The table actually matches my Christmas tree which I love! Christmas is the one time of year that I love to pull out my fine china, crystal and nicest flatware. Tis the season, right? The holidays are the perfect excuse to give your table a fancy makeover!
My grandmother (we called her “Sweet”) always had big red balls with red bows on her Christmas tree. My Mom did the same and I’ve carried on the tradition.
This summer, I used a purple velvet ribbon on a tablescape and loved the simplicity of it instead of a traditional napkin ring. I knew a thin red velvet bow would be perfect on my Christmas tablescape and coordinate perfectly with the red bows on my Christmas tree!Â
I love to use my wedding china, especially at Christmas, because it’s a beautiful white and gold set. It’s Royal Crown Derby in Elizabeth Gold, in case anyone is curious! I paired it with these white chargers (my new favorite purchase). If you’re looking for simple, classic chargers, get these! They’re so beautiful, and I’m already dreaming up how I’m going to use them at Easter too.Â
I actually used the same combination of my dinnerware, chargers and napkins in this magical Pink and Red Christmas tablescape!
For florals, I chose simple white roses, white tulips, decorative gold branches, and berry branches. I added gold trees, brass candlesticks, and twinkle lights for a simple yet pretty centerpiece. Sometimes you can “shop” your own home to find beautiful touches to your tablescape from lanterns to decorative trees!
Let’s talk about that red bow! You can use any type of ribbon from a satin to a grosgrain, but if you love the look of this thin velvet, then here is the exact ribbon I got on Amazon! It’s 3/8″ thickness ribbon that comes in several colors!
The gorgeous gold monogrammed napkins came from one of my favorite Etsy sellers – Simply Sandra Designs. Her embroidery and monogramming is absolutely stunning, and I LOVE how these napkins turned out. I know I’ll be able to use them for year-round entertaining!
I almost squealed out loud when I ran across this red bow tablecloth. The red bow detail is very subtle so it’s hard to see in photos, but it was a lucky Kate Spade find from HomeGoods. And guess what? I found the exact tablecloth on Amazon! Of course, a classic red tablecloth would look very similar! I just love how the bright red looks with the white plates!
The gold flatware was my grandmothers, and I feel so honored to have it on my Christmas table! There are many similar gold flatware designs available now, and this is a set here that I love. You might be surprised to find how much you love gold when you have a set! I find myself pulling out my gold flatware quite a lot!
You might notice the little wrapped boxes at each place setting. This is a little favor for guests and a fun way to add some decor to your table. I always love to send guests home with a little “happy” like chocolates, a mini framed photo, or other thoughtful gift.
Whether you love red and gold as well or perhaps greens and silvers are your favorite, I hope you’re inspired to take a few ideas from this table to use on your own this season. You can easily recreate these ideas in any color scheme.
Your table is lovely, one of the prettiest I have seen .
