The Ultimate Thanksgiving Menu
It’s here – well, almost – THANKSGIVING! An entire holiday revolving around food and being thankful. Truly, if that’s not the best holiday, I don’t know what is. I’ve always loved Thanksgiving. Pies. Mashed Potatoes. ROLLS! Oh, what fun!
Seeing as many of you are either traveling to your Thanksgiving destination or knee deep in pots and pans preparing Thanksgiving dinner for your family, I wanted to share my ultimate Thanksgiving menu. Some of these Thanksgiving recipes are my family’s tried and true recipes and others are twists on the classics that I can’t wait to try!
Citrus & Herb Butter Roasted Turkey
Let’s start off the ultimate Thanksgiving menu with the main course – the TURKEY! If you want to make your own turkey this year, try this Citrus and Herb Butter Roasted Turkey! The Suburban Soapbox has your recipe for this amazing turkey.
I do want to add that I love ham around Thanksgiving as well so you must try this Baked Ham with Brown Sugar Glaze if you’re the ham-loving type!
Cheesy Green Bean Casserole
I actually didn’t grow up eating green bean casserole, but once I discovered it (thanks to my college roommate’s mother), I have never looked back! This recipe from Spicy Southern Kitchen is one of my favorites – love a cheesy twist!
Mashed Potatoes
Hands down, one of my top 3 favorite foods. Mashed potatoes are a quintessential Thanksgiving side dish! You just can’t have Thanksgiving without them! These creamy mashed potatoes from Natasha’s Kitchen are my fave!
Butternut Squash & Brussel Sprouts
I love to add a few more veggies to my Thanksgiving table, and this Butternut Squash and Brussel Sprout Salad from Julia’s Album does the trick!
Yeast Rolls
Now I’m not one to dislike grabbing a pack of Sister Schubert’s Rolls (see more about my love for those in this Thanksgiving tablescape post) BUT if you want to make your own rolls, these homemade yeast rolls from Sugar & Soul are the perfect addition to your Thanksgiving menu!
Cornbread Dressing
I’m partial to my mother’s homemade dressing, but I ALSO love to make this cornbread dressing recipe from Cafe Delites! One day, I’ll have to share my mother’s recipe, but if you love cornbread, you’ll love this recipe too!
Sweet Potato Casserole
One of my FAVORITE side dishes, I love Sweet Potato Casserole. You’ll find the recipe (turned into mini bite sizes) for Sweet Potato Casserole here! If you want it in a casserole dish, nix the mini pies and just make it in a baking/casserole dish!
Cranberry Sauce
This cranberry sauce turns out perfect EVERY time, and it has a delicious hint of orange that makes it a regular at our Thanksgiving table every year! Grab my cranberry sauce recipe here!
A family tradition, we enjoy this Brown Sugar Pie at every Thanksgiving. It’s always the first dessert to go! It’s buttery, flakey, and absolutely amazing!
My Butterscotch-Cinnamon Pie is a rich and delicious pie full of my favorite brown sugar and cinnamon flavors!
Pumpkin Pie
We love pumpkin pie and it’s not Thanksgiving without it, but I like to switch it up each year! Some years we make Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Pie and this year, we’re making these Pumpkin Pie Bars (they have a GINGERSNAP crust – oh my yum) from Spiced!
Fancy cake instead for Thanksgiving? Check out my best Thanksgiving Cake Ideas (there are over 30 fabulous cake recipes for the holiday).
Apple Cider Sangria
Tis the season for apple cider, and we love to have a seasonal drink to accompany our Thanksgiving menu. This sparkling apple cider sangria is always a crowd-pleaser!
Appetizer Idea – Cranberry & Prosciutto Crostini
And if your crowd needs an appetizer to hold them over until the main meal, these Cranberry & Prosciutto Crostini will do the trick! Find more Thanksgiving Appetizers here!
Or WOW them with a Fall Charcuterie Board this Thanksgiving! This is such an easy one to pull together, especially when your oven is being used for the turkey!
There we have it! The Ultimate Thanksgiving Menu! It has everything my family loves and enjoys, and I hope it inspires you as you prepare your own family’s Thanksgiving menu! I’m so grateful to each and every one of you for following along here at Pizzazzerie. Thank you for allowing me to do what I love every single day.
XO,
Courtney
