A Fairy Birthday, Candy Cane Party!
I absolutely adore this adorable Candy Cane Fairy party submitted by Kerry Redemer of Simply Sweet Parties! Nothing says the holidays like little gingerbread men and candy canes. This birthday party is absolutely perfect for a December birthday, chock-full of festive details and delicious touches. The gingerbread and candy cane favors and soft pink color scheme brought everything together perfectly! Sweets included pudding, gingerbread cookies, marshmallow pops, cake pops, red velvet cupcakes and mint hot chocolate. YUM!
The birthday girl’s grandmother is a very talented seamstress and created a gorgeous fairy outfit, complete with wings, for an American Girl Doll, transforming her into the sweetest candy cane fairy.
Leftover treats were packaged in precious little take out boxes decorated with favor tags. You can find tutorials for Kerry’s adorable rosette fairy wands and hairband party favors here and here.
Kerry also shares with us her method for creating the tutu cupcake stand she used to display the red velvet cupcakes:
- Punch holes into cake boards using a cropadile.
- Thread strips of tulle into the holes and tie off like a tutu.
- Place cake board on a regular cake stand.
- Hang gems to add a bit of sparkle
