Greenery & Citrus Christmas Table

It’s the moments we share together that make a house a home, and so many of those moments are shared around a dining room table, enjoying a delicious holiday meal. I hope you find inspiration from my greenery and citrus Christmas table, inspired by Yankee Candle’s White Spruce & Grapefruit.

Greenery and Citrus Christmas Tablescape

I always find myself drawn to citrus fragrances, especially grapefruit so when Yankee Candle sent over a few of the new fragrances from their new Signature Collection, White Spruce & Grapefruit was an *instant* winner. It smells fresh and citrusy with a touch of Christmas spruce.

I will be burning this all season long! And it inspired this citrus Christmas table in gorgeous holiday greens with pops of citrus orange.

While grapefruit orange isn’t a traditional holiday color, it pairs beautifully with green and reminds me of the classic Southern Christmas decor seen in Williamsburg, VA and Charleston, SC. My mother always has citrus along her holiday mantel.

Just like the beautiful White Spruce & Grapefruit fragrance, I chose a white, soft green and grapefruit orange color palette. I love how the candle fit beautifully into the tablescape design and serves as a pretty glowing centerpiece in my greenery runner.

I love weaving in layers of texture on my tablescapes, especially during the holidays. On a simple green and white pinstripe tablecloth, I layered various greenery down the center to create a “runner” effect. I tucked in a few strands of fairy lights for extra sparkle!

I added in small bud vases of white flowers and lots of grapefruits down into the greenery. For a little bit of height, I added crystal and glass trees. I love to use various heights in the center of tables, all the while being sure nothing gets too tall so guests can still enjoy each other’s company across the table!

For each place setting, I layered gold-trimmed white charger plates with soft green and gold dinner plates.

Gold striped napkins provided a touch of shimmer and a sprig of fresh rosemary and white flower bloom tucked in the crystal napkin ring is one of my favorite details. Last but not least, a simple velvet bow is the perfect finishing touch.

I’m often asked where I find inspiration for my tablescapes, and as you have seen, sometimes it’s as simple as the fragrance and the beautiful, hand-illustrated label of a candle.

The White Spruce & Grapefruit candle would make a lovely hostess gift too! Include fresh citrus fruits, sprigs of greenery and the candle all tucked in a pretty gift basket. I will definitely be gifting this fragrance to lots of friends and family this year, it’s a favorite!
