Halloween is quickly approaching, and with that in mind, we thought we’d share the perfect craft/costume accessory for when you don’t know quite what to wear to Victoria Beckham’s October party! (I’m assuming my invitation got lost in the mail!)
We first became fascinated with the fascinator during the Royal Wedding. Unfortunately, fascinators aren’t the kind of thing we can just wear to the mall on an average Manic Monday. Fascinators are however, perfect for Halloween. They’re especially great if you want to make an effort, but you don’t really feel like dressing up in a full costume.
We bought the little witches hats at our local Hobby Lobby, and then we decorated them with ribbon, glitter spiders, etc…. The most importantthing is getting the hat to stick on your head. There are two options for this:
How to Make Witch Fascinator Hats
1. Hot glue a hair clip to the inside brim of the hat. My hair is fine, and this was all I needed to hold the hat in place.
2. If your hair is thicker, you can use a hair band. You can either hot glue the hair band into the hat, or you can glue in two loops of ribbon and slide the hair band through.
We decided to go all out and throw a party where we gave out prizes for the best decorated hats. If you want to see details so you can throw your own, you can check it out here!
The greatest thing about this project is that it’s a stylish alternative for Halloween that doesn’t cost a lot of money or take a lot of time. We’d love to hear your ideas on how to make these hats fabulous for your Halloween celebrations.
