There’s something magical about gathering loved ones around a beautifully set table, and Valentine’s Day gives us the perfect excuse to pull out all the stops. Valentine’s Day Table Setting: The Colors

I love the classic Valentine’s Day colors of pink and read so I wanted to really let those shine on this table setting. I chose lots of pink, deep red, and metallic gold accents. Instead of a typical white tablecloth, I pulled out an old favorite – this soft pink one that really lets the red wine glasses pop while carrying on the pale pink hues throughout.

Creating the Centerpiece

The centerpiece is the star of any table setting. Here’s how to achieve this look…

  • Use multiple small arrangements instead of one large centerpiece. This also helps to encourage conversation as everyone can easily see each other across the table.
  • No need for a florist, visit a few grocery stores (I love Trader Joe’s) for red roses, pinkn carnations and a few white tulips.
  • Add fresh greenery for natural texture. You can even add clippings of greenery from your own yard.
  • Your vases don’t need to match and different heights allows for visual interest!
  • Scatter rose petals along the table for extra romance! This is so easy to do, especially if you have a rose break when arranging, save those petals! It’s these little details that really add the charm to a table.

Candles really add a glowing ambiance to any table. I love a variety of red and pink. Use a variety of taper candle holders. Here are some great red taper candles!

Valentine’s Place Settings

Here’s how to recreate this layered place setting look:

  • Start with white beaded chargers. If you can’t find these, use what you have!
  • Layer white dinner plates. I love a simple gold trimmed white dinner plate. I use them all the time!
  • I have some simple pink trimmed salad plates that add some fun, but a simple white salad plate will also be just fine!
  • I added in my favorite pink and white checkered cloth napkins. Here is a similar set!
  • Finish with gold flatware to tie it all together!

For the glassware, I chose pink goblets for water and a bold red wine glass too (here is a similar look). I love the red glasses for Valentine’s Day as well as Christmas!

I also added pink calligraphy place cards from Etsy! You can save and reuse simple calligraphy place cards too.
