Know what I love? Celebrating birthdays in fun and unusual ways. Like a brunch, bar cart style or even a pancake party! Create a fun toppings centerpiece with all the pancake fixin’s like berries, sprinkles, syrups, etc. Stack them high, add candles, and you’re on your way to a delicious pancake celebration.

Keep your pancake party light and festive with a fun, colored tablecloth. I chose a purple one with white Swiss polka dots. Next up are coordinating plates and a simple centerpiece. Layering plates gives the table style, so top plain white or clear dishes with fun, colored ones. These smaller plates can be salad plate-size and are perfect for pancakes.

For a simple centerpiece, place a cake stand in the center to hold all the pancake toppings. The “build your own pancake” style is perfect for a party because everyone can pick their favorite toppings. Here are a few ideas:

  • Syrups
  • Sprinkles
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Strawberries
  • Chopped nuts
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Chocolate chips

Fill mini baking cups or little buckets with the toppings, and you can even give guests their own baking cups filled with sprinkles or other toppings. For some party flair, tie coordinating ribbon onto wooden skewer sticks to place down into the stacks of pancakes and topping containers.

Whether you’re making your own or purchasing pancakes, be sure to have them warm for guests. You can keep pancakes warm by placing them on a large baking sheet topped with aluminum foil in a warm, 200-degree-Fahrenheit oven until ready to serve. I selected two sizes: mini silver dollar pancakes and larger pancakes for variety. The minis are great for kids!

I served up milk in milk glasses with festive, striped straws as well as mini orange juices. Pick your favorite beverages or add in a coffee bar for a fun adult addition to the pancake party!

Be sure to have candles if you’re celebrating a birthday, and place them right into a stack of pancakes! This is such a fun twist on the traditional birthday cake – a pancake cake! Sprinkles are a must! I hope you’ve found a little inspiration for your next party!
