New Year’s Eve Printables + Party Ideas!

new years eve partyNew Year’s Eve is coming right up so we’re sharing some simple ideas to entertain in style as we ring in 2012 and say goodbye to 2011! I love this super colorful New Years Eve party from Lisa Storms for Fiskars! I love the idea of using wine or champagne corks with a simple slit cut in the top to hold countdown numbers!

The accordion clock circles are my favorite, and I especially love the various blue colors. It’s a great change from lots of Christmas red and green. Here’s how to make these cute clocks to hang for NYE…

HOW TO MAKE ACCORDION CLOCKS: “Begin by making assorted accordion circles by cutting strips of cardstock one half the width of desired circle and using scoring blade in your rotary trimmer to score each half inch. Accordion-fold along scored lines and repeat with enough strips adhered together to form a circle. Hot glue at center. Add number stickers at the 3, 6, 9, and 12. To create clock hands, trim a 3″ square of cardstock and punch one corner with the Romantique corner punch. Using your trimmer, cut from the opposite corner to the design without cutting through. Repeat on other side, trim off excess, and adhere to center of circle along with a shorter version. Hang with clear thread.” – Fiskars

Purple and silver make a chic and festive color combo for New Years Eve! I think I might choose this for my palette this year. My father is flying in to Nashville and I’ll be hosting a casual New Year’s Eve dinner party. Use cardstock, glitter, scissors, and other craft items to create simple “clock cupcake toppers”! You can stick these down in everything from appetizers to desserts (think beyond the cupcake!).

Send guests off with a midnight snack! I love the idea of packaging up mini muffins or mini cinnamon buns for an early breakfast! Simply package a few in a cellophane bag tucked down in a plastic champagne or cocktail glass from the party store and hand one to guests as they leave. Cute + simple.
