Inspiration for a Cape Cod Nautical tablescape!

Nautical Tablescape

With summer in full force, I’m enjoying lots of outside dinners and parties on the patio. I love grilling out and hosting casual, relaxed dinners but every now and then, I love to spice it up with a theme.

When I saw the Nautical Outdoor Entertaining at World Market, I was sold. I knew I had to host a “Nautical Cape Cod” dinner party. I love their Outdoor Dining and was so in love with the crab and lobster plates!

They’re perfect for casual to fancy and everything in between. Can’t you imagine a nautical “cape cod” rehearsal dinner or engagement party? So many possibilities for such a pretty line!

The details of this tablescape are quite simple yet stylish for effortless entertaining. A clear glass cake stand served as a perfect holder for scattered seashells and a cute mini, wooden sailboat that I plan to use as home decor on some built-in shelves after the party! The lobster + crab plates were set atop simple white dinner plates and paired with World Market’s bamboo cutlery. Seashell votive holders held orange votives for the perfect glow once the sun went down. I also scattered seashell decor on the table for extra nautical “flair”!

Every party needs some deliciosu food! I created a simple yet delicious appetizer that fit the them: crab bites! I love the unique, global foods at World Market, especially the Siljans Croustades Shells because they’re perfect for an on-the-go hostess looking for an easy idea for an hors d’oevres or even dessert! These crab bites can be served warm or hot too. Delish!

Ingredients

  

• 1 package Siljans Croustades Crispy Shells - 24 per package
• 2 cups lump crab meat
• 1-1/2 cups mayonnaise
• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
• 1-2 tablespoons horseradish - depending on preference
• 6 tablespoons French dressing

Instructions

 

• Combine all ingredients and spoon into croustades shells. Serve warm or cold!

You can also make this as a “dip” style served alongside flatbread crackers in the World Market dip bowls that perfectly match the nautical theme. They even have a coral and silver spreader knife.

I also served up simple sweet tea infused with cherry juice for a summertime beverage served up in a mini pitcher.
