Adorable “Chapter 2” Book Themed Birthday Party!
It’s no surprise I love a cute book-themed party (here is a book-themed baby shower I hosted last spring) so when Tiffany of The Taste{Full} Life sent over her daughter’s 2nd birthday party – I squealed! “She really loves to read (one of her first sentences was “read it to me”) so I decided to throw a book themed party,” Tiffany shared. She decided to call it “The Story of Nadia: Chapter 2” for her second year in life. Here detailed decorations including the faux book pages and fresh colors are just darling! Check out the “book cake” below – one of my favorite details!
Happy 2nd Birthday Nadia! Check out the cute party pictures & details…
BOOK PARTY DETAILS by Tiffany
“My favorite part of a party is the sweets table. But I have learned firsthand that guests sometimes shy away from “perfect” looking treats; works for me because I was on a budget! I used a combo of store bought and homemade treats to fill the table up (the Oreo truffles were a huge hit!).
To bring in the book theme, I used book pages and print for as much as I could—truffle toppers, cake topper, water labels, and banners. Favors were books wrapped in kraft paper, adorned with various ribbons and trim coupled with reading glasses that I scored in Target’s $1 section. I’ve planned many imaginary parties while browsing that section!
I planned book themed activities for kids and adults. For the grownups I had a “read up on the birthday girl” table. It’s a great way to showcase photo books you’ve made of the birthday girl/boy! It also included a framed print of some of Nadia’s notable moments over the year. For the kiddos, I had a “reading corner” with books, coloring books, and composition notebooks and pencils to write a story. And for everyone I had a photo booth with book themed props, a petty polka dot backdrop, and a special hashtag to share the photos on instagram.
There are always glitches when planning parties but I learn something new with each one and somehow it all comes together! I was proud to throw an affordable and fun back yard bash with lots of DIY details, a unique color scheme, and pretty touches!”

I’m a sucker for a book-themed party, and this one is so darling and bright. Love the book worms — what a great idea!
The choice of orange and light blue really made the design vibrant, particularly when used with the hanging decorations and the two favor buckets. The high chair decorations and little cake was just so adorable. Great pictures!
Where are the white/pink/blue lens-less glasses from? Thank you!!
Oops, never mind! Love the Target $1 bin. Great find :)
