County Fair Birthday!

County Fair Birthday

I just have to say that Pizzazzerie has THE most TALENTED readers! You gals amaze me! Reader Jill Davis threw this County Fair birthday for her daughter Mallory’s 2nd birthday. How cute?! She began, of course, with super cute invitations from The Sweet Peach Paperie. Guests were greeted with a matching welcome sign {see above} when they arrived to the party!

Jill wanted the food to be simple and easy, yet still make guests feel like they were at the local county fair.  Guests enjoyed: hot dogs, cherry pie pops (homemade by Jill), pumpkin doughnuts, kettle corn, individual bags of potato chips, with lemonade and bottled water to drink.  She wanted a vintage feel to the table, so she made a fabric banner to hang across the top of the table, which was covered in red felt and burlap. Super cute! I love burlap! It’s inexpensive and great for table coverings and banners.

Mallory’s birthday cake (from Piece-A-Cake Bakery) was just perfect. Jill added fabric bunting to go across the top of the cake – to match the big one over the food table! Darling!

Jill shared all about the FAIR GAMES!  “First, my husband constructed a makeshift barn out of hay bales for the kids to run and play through as part of the set up.  The kids LOVED it! As far as actual games, we had a Ring Toss game (using vintage wooden coke bottle cases and glass bottles); Tin Can Throw (using small paint cans from Ace Hardware wrapped in wrapping paper); Bean Bag Throw (“Bullseye” banner from Hobby Lobby); and a Coin Dig, where gold and silver chocolate coins were dropped into cedar shavings and the kids had to “dig” for them! The kids had a blast playing all of the games!

We also had a Pick-A-Prize board.  Each child was given a raffle ticket when they arrived to the party and we would call out everyone’s names throughout the party and they would get to come and pick a prize from the board.  This was a big hit and everyone was a winner!”

After it was all over, everyone got their own “Mini Petting Zoo” to take home!  How cute is this?! I love this idea!
