7 Tips for Fabulous Backyard Parties!
Tips for Fabulous Backyard Parties
- Keep those flies away! Who wants flies around during their backyard party? No one. They’re awful down here in Nashville, I can attest to that! Now, a super easy solution. Set out a few extra glasses of water, drop in a few pennies, and ta-da! Read more about this nifty little tip on Making Lemonade’s blog!
- Watermelon is a must-have summer party treat, but it’s also a big messy one! Create small mini watermelon slices before your party and place them on sticks for simple, easy eating! {Photo Credit}
- Set up food “bar-style” and let guests create their own plates! They’ll enjoy their favorite foods and you’ll enjoy the party too rather than a hostess who has to run in and out serving dinner. It involves some prep-work ahead of time to set up the table but once guests arrive, it’s easy to sit back and enjoy! We love this taco bar on Wedding Chicks, you can even grab the free printables too!
- For backyard parties, lighting is key! As the sun sets, you want to maintain a festive atmosphere so use inexpensive string lights to create a glowing ambiance. Wrap them around trees, deck railings, or hang from inexpensive yard poles. {Photo Credit}
- Spilled drinks can mean a big mess, especially when kids are involved! No one wants the ants invited so get inexpensive cups with lids and fun straws for a clever way to keep the beverages in tact. Check out more food ideas on Oh Happy Day!
- Speaking of sticky fingers, what better way to keep those at bay than a Sticky Fingers Station! Use a cute tub or bucket to corral paper towels and wet wipes so guests with little ones can keep things clean! As a new mom, I can tell you that this is awesome and would definitely be needed with toddlers around! Via The Kitchn.
- Pull out that old radio flyer wagon and give it a new use: beverage tub! Fill with ice, pop in sodas and bottles. See more ideas here on Real Simple!
