Blue & Gold Dinner Party Tablescape
Happy Monday, friends! I’m back with yet another tablescape with some new pieces and a fresh color scheme to inspire all of you! As you can probably tell, we made it a goal this summer to create quite a bit of gorgeous tablescape inspiration for you so you can browse around, get inspired, and host the party of your dreams…but really! I hope you’re inspired by even one table you see here (or in the book), and it encourages you to enjoy a gorgeous dinner party with friends and family. It’s that time where we put away the phones, sit down at a beautiful setting, and truly “be” with each other that will create lasting memories!
Dinner Party Tablescape Inspiration
Without further ado, on to one of my favorite dinner party tablescapes. Amanda over at Fashionable Hostess actually asked me to create this for her Dinner Party Series, and I was happy to participate! I was itching for a reason to pull out my new farm table that I had made for me here in Tennessee. I knew I wanted to pair some of my favorite glam gold pieces with the table’s rustic color and texture.
So after being inspired to combine glam with rustic, I decided a pop of blue was a must! I’ve been itching to use my blue buffalo check napkins (bought at Hot Pink in Brentwood, TN but here are some very similar ones) as I’ve been seeing buffalo check popping up everywhere – and it makes me so happy. It’s such a fun print! You could swap the blue for red or green and instantly be on your way to a darling holiday table!
I added in some geometric design by layering these Lenox navy and white salad plates on top of my favorite white octagon plates! My “go-to” gold flatware was the perfect addition. I used simple gold lanterns with copper candles down the center along with navy blue pagoda lanterns and simple ferns for greenery. The ferns and vases were in my living room which goes to show that you can truly use home decor items on your tablescape, and they’re quite often my favorite addition!
When I shared a sneak peek of this table on Instagram last week, many of you asked about the gold pineapple napkin rings! They were a vintage find, here are similar ones though! You’ll also see them in this gold and pink tablescape I styled last year.
You’ll also notice miniature vases at each place settings filled with various herbs like basil, mint, and rosemary. I love the wonderful aromas it gives to the table, and they’re a fun take-home for party guests. If I’m going to give a party favor (which I love to do), I like to give it a purpose at the party as well.
As for glassware, I get a lot of questions about the beaded water glasses whenever I use them on a tablescape. They’re from Frontgate and come in several colors! The taller gold stripe stemmed glassware was bought from Homegoods during the holiday season.
I served up a simple fruit tart placed on a crystal cake stand. Here’s a tip I love to add a little pizzazz to your food serving pieces. Tuck a few fresh greenery stems under your dessert on a tray or cake stand. It just gives the presentation a polished look and feel!
I hope you’ve loved this blue and gold dinner party tablescape! Whether you’re inspired to add a touch of greenery to serving dishes, include fresh herbs on your table, or combine blue and gold, I hope you’ve found a little something to inspire your next party! Tell me in the comments, what’s your favorite part of this tablescape?

I also shot a quick little IG Story video (hence the very vertical crop), but thought you might like to see a quick overhead view of the table before the party!
You didn’t say where the cutlery was from? Love it!
Steff, so sorry! It’s linked in the post in the paragraph with the links to the plates! They’re linked here also: http://bit.ly/2uh2xOt
