“Mom On” | The Wild Ride of Motherhood!
The whole journey into motherhood has been such a wild ride for me (as I imagine it is for most moms). I can now fully relate to the hilarious memes, gifs, and funny videos that fellow moms share on social media. I get it now. Like I said, it’s a wild ride, but it’s a rewarding ride! I’m lucky to be able to work from home with Blakely and partner with a brand that is making it their mission to celebrate the craziness of motherhood. Yoplait, we’re a match made in heaven because I generally have no idea what I’m doing in the mom-realm! You can watch my daily behind-the-scenes on Instagram Stories. ;)
Yoplait’s “Mom On” campaign is all about mom confidence and shining a light on all the funny, yet real and relatable situations that moms go through every single day. The goal is to stop the judgement and ask moms to celebrate the individual ways they Mom On. So if you are reading this and nodding your head thinking “Yes! Mom here! Mom-life is insanity!” – then pull up a seat, grab a glass of wine, and know that you’ve come to the right place.
Take a look at Yoplait’s Mom On video above. First of all, I can see myself in almost every single one of those situations. Yep, major breastfeeding issues so I pumped exclusively for 10 months including one time huddled in the corner of the Laguardia airport while people stared at me. Yep, I absolutely bribe Blakely, how else do you think we get her to swim lessons? Yep, yoga pants might be all I wear these days. Yep, wine gets me through every witching hour. Tell me, can you relate?!
I love the message of “Mom On” because it isn’t always easy but you just have to… mom on. For me, it’s a constant struggle to be at home with Blakely and enjoying those special moments but also having to step over and style for a photoshoot, work on book promotions, or get blog posts up. I feel like I’m pulled in both directions on a daily basis, but you know what, I’ve figured it out. I’ve made it work for me. Sometimes that means my daughter is growing up right alongside my job and frankly, that’s just fine with me.
This shot was on the set of my book cover shoot. It was about 100 degrees, I had the pressure of a book cover on me, but I also had my daughter. She’ll likely be able to set a formal table by the age of 5 so that’s a win-win. She was on the set of many of my book shoots, cheering us on as she ate the food right off the tables (while we shot) and pretended the napkins were blankets for her Teddy but you know what? Mom on, friends, for whatever works in your crazy life situation. We’re all just trying to do our best!
Further proof that she fully enjoyed the food on set.
That’s why I’m so thrilled to continue partnering with Yoplait for the next year. Yoplait might not be fancy or local or craft, it’s just good old-fashioned, tasty yogurt that my family loves, and if Blakely wants to add sprinkles to her morning yogurt bowl, then sprinkles we will add.
I’m excited to be creating some fun and delicious ideas this year as well as sharing more ways that I “Mom On” so stay tuned!
