DIY Light Bulb Vases

Recycle those old light bulbs and create darling vases for your next party or event! Simply hang them from branches or outdoor yard hooks! Fill with small buds or greenery for a whimsical little vase! In order to sit upright, you have to set your light bulb on a round washer or some sort of rubber round in order for it to stay stable. We love them hanging though!

STEP 1: Carefully peel off the contact at the base of the light bulb using needle-nose pliers. Lightly tap the black glass at the base of the light bulb with a hammer (be careful + wear safety goggles). It might take a bit of practice to carefully crack this black glass.
STEP 2: Remove the inner wires of the light bulb (use the needle-nose pliers or Allen wrench).
STEP 3: Fill with water + your flowers!
STEP 4 (optional): If hanging, tie light bulb with twine or ribbon and securely attach to branch or hook.
